Fall fun with Family

Our son and his family came from North Dakota to visit us for a few days and we made the most
of the time we had together with our two precious granddaughters. We miss them very much
since they moved away, so it was great to spend some time together.

One day the girls and I made Halloween cupcakes together and I tried to capture the process.
I took a few more a LOT MORE photos, but I realized that you don't want to see 500 photos
of my grandchildren. Although I just can't understand why not! ha!

LOVE this one of Ainsley and her little bare feet.

They took turns putting the batter into the cupcake liners...

Then they started frosting them...

 ...and they added sprinkles.

There was a lot of laughing and licking going on. Too fun and great memories!

We also visited a corn maze one day that is a few miles from our home and Ainsley hopped up here
to have her picture taken.

Grandpa took them a wagon ride. They always love to do this. I think he enjoys it as much as they do.

What little child doesn't like to pick up stones and leaves and all kinds of treasures?
I haven't met one yet.

This is our family in the middle of the corn maze.

The girls also love to play dress up whenever they come and it did not take them long
to pick out some dresses and put them on.  I keep a stash of them just for times like
these.

Sisters Annika and Ainsley.
{Annika is wearing my sunglasses}

There was a petting zoo and the girls loved the animals!
A calf, pigs, goats and sheep. They really were cute little creatures!

This girl is limber! I remember those days...very faintly. ha!

This little gal is such a hoot! Her daddy told her to tell him which way to go and
she did pretty good, but this time she didn't tell him so he kept on walking
right into the corn. She thought that was pretty funny.

We love these witty, spunky, beautiful granddaughters of ours and we are so thankful that
they were able to spend a few days with us. They have moved on to North Carolina now and
we miss them already.  Annika will be going to another new school and their parents will
 be getting new jobs.

Hubby and I are adjusting to a "new normal"with them so far away,
 and we are surviving...barely. lol

Prayers appreciated for them all.

Blessings~

Trick-or-treat!

Just look what I found!! A pretty little mermaid  getting ready to go trick-or-treating.

...along with her sweet little sister. Aren't they both so precious and don't they make
beautiful little mermaids? :)

My son also donned a costume ...lol!

Hubby and I went to our son and daughter-in-laws place and trick-or-treated with them and the girls
last Saturday evening. We had a lot of fun, although just as we were starting it began raining so we
had to break out the umbrellas.

The above photo is an apartment building that we walked past.

Two little mermaids getting ready to head out for treats.

 {yes I got the photos in the wrong order...sorry}

Grandpa and Grandma all ready for a fun evening with the pretty little mermaids. ♥

This was my costume! HA HA! We did look for ears on the spur of the moment, but didn't find any.
Annika wanted me to say "meow" at every place we went so I tried to oblige her. HA! They are only
young once and we are making memories. I found out when I became a grandparent that I will do
things for my grands that I have never done before! :) Fun, fun times that will pass all too soon
and they will be 16 before we know it. I am treasuring these days and holding them close to my
heart.

Carte Postale wings and an adorable little bunny

I just had to share my youngest granddaughter in her Halloween outfit with you today. After all it is white so it goes right along with our White Wednesday theme. Isn't she just the cutest??!!  We walked along with both our sons and their families and our daughter-in-laws parents for trick or treating last weekend and we had a wonderful time. I think our adorable little bunny stole the show. :)

Just look at those little ears and that kissable sweet face...hee hee!

As we were walking through town collecting treats for the grands, Ainsley's mommy held her for awhile, her other grandma, her daddy and eventually she was passed on to me. I didn't have her in my arms very long at all and she fell fast asleep.  She was a tired little bunny, but still oh so cute!!
Changing gears here...I have sold several Jeanne de' arc style angel wing ornaments off my blog so I decided to list a few in my Etsy store.  Small and large ornaments so you can take your pick.

They vary in  price depending on size and charm used .

If you see any your heart desires, just visit my Etsy store or send me an email.
{I finally got my Etsy shop name changed to Wayside Treasures...yay!!}

I will be linking this post with White Wednesday so be sure to HOP on over to Faded Charm again this week for more amazingly beautiful posts. I have to give a shout out to Kathleen every once in awhile for continuing to host this day for us each week. Thank you Kathleen!!!!!! :)

Warning: Lots of color ahead!!

While I keep the inside of my home pretty neutral, I do decorate outside with some color in the fall. I just have to!!  Mother Nature showers us with so many gorgeous hues that it would almost be a crime not to. These photos are part of my front porch decor. I added a few more things today. I think the overall look of the porch as a whole is still sparse, but  I can't spend all my money on pumpkins and gourds.  I do think that I might will get a few more though. P>

Once in awhile I stand back and look at this and think, "okay is it pretty or is it just too much and messy"?? HA! I have not changed a thing though.

Pumpkins and hydrangeas...can't get much better than this for fall.

These are the last of my hydrangeas for this year.  I didn't leave very many on my bush. In fact it is almost bare!!

Fall color abounds!

Little orange boo pumpkins. Same photo as the first one only for the very first photo I sat on the porch floor to take the picture. So many different angles makes many different photos of the same thing.

I fell in love with this white and green gourd the other day at the local greenhouse. I pawed through the huge container to get just the right ones.

The name of this pumpkin is *goosebumps*...appropriately named I think!! $1.99 each so I picked up a few.

Love the little curly-q stem on the one gourd!

Don't look too close as I noticed my mirror needs washing badly! lol.
So there you have it...a lot of color from my home to yours! HAPPY FALL everyone!!

Please keep my niece Megan in your prayers. She is in the hospital with a kidney stone or multiple stones and is expecting their first little one in December.  Her mother (my sister) lives in PA and Megan lives in Alabama.  It is very hard for her at this time because of course she wants to be with her daughter. I won't go into all the details, but just please pray. I know what the poor girl is going through as I have had them a few times and believe me I would rather go through labor.
