Aged silver, vintage ornies and Christmas

Amidst the chaos and noise this week I managed to get a little Christmas decorating done.

I always incorporate my vintage silver ornaments and am constantly on the lookout for
unique ones that I don't already have.

My Heywood Wakefield hutch all decked out for the holidays.

Crosses, candles, ornies etc.

Pretty candles that will glow beautifully in the dusk of the evening

vintage pinecones and ornies

I LOVE vintage silver also

REJOICE...the Savior is born!!

Angels we have heard on high ♪♫♪

Decor on top of the hutch

I feel like I am on a merry-go-round that never stops to let me off for a bit,
but God is good and I am looking forward to celebrating the birth of our Savior.
I hope that you are too.
Merry Christmas!

Some recent finds and around the house

Oh my goodness!
It is sooooo hot here. Supposed to
hit 102 degrees today with a heat index that is
much higher. I will be very thankful when the heat lets
up as it is hard to do anything at all in this weather.
I have been mostly staying indoors except for yesterday
when I ran off for a haircut, pick up a prescription and to
buy my hubby some food/drink for work.

Looks like another day of pretty much the same so I
have been paying bills online , a little laundry and
staying inside! Our little air conditioner is working
it's heart out. We ususally run it at night and then turn
it off during the day because it stays pretty nice in here
with fans etc., but I haven't shut it off yet today from
last night. Just too hot!

Remember the antique booth I went to several weeks
ago and got my french items? I also purchased these two
candles in the same booth. Aren't they pretty?

My favorite corner and lampshade again

some of my old dried hydrangeas in a birdcage

Last week I headed up to the antique mall where I
used to have my booth and spotted some sidewalk
sales so I stopped back at them on the way
home. There is a very nice upscale home store and
that is where I purchased most of my items including
the dried lavender laundry sachet above. It is a nice
large size. You throw it in the dryer for a nice
lavender scent...haven't tried it yet. :)

I also found this burlap pillow cover for $2.00!! Can't beat that. Now I just need to get a pillow form
for it.

Then I picked up two linen stockings with the initials
*S* on them. They had probably half a dozen or so
and they all had the same initial.

I hope you are having a good day today and if you
are in the midst of a heatwave like we are please stay
inside and be very careful if you do go out.
Also, please say a prayer for my hubby and son who
both are working in this awful weather.

Blessings~

Found a new antique store!

We went on a spur of the moment weekend getaway
up to my daughter's place in Burton, Michigan.
We left Friday after hubby got home from work and
just got home late this afternoon.

My daughter told me about an antique store that
she happened to drive past that she thought I would
love and was she ever right!

I thought I would tease you a little with this gorgeous
photo that I took there. I don't remember how much
she was , but looking at the photo now ...

I wish she
was at my place ...
sitting in my yard.

More pictures to come...

Blessed Sunday to you!

White Wednesday ~

White Wednesday seems to sneak
up on me too fast.
I had a post all scheduled for today
and about 10 pm last night
it hit me that today is Wednesday
again so I had to change it~
Are these the cutest little vintage shoes ever ?? Look at the sweet little buckles ~ I love WHITE pumpkins for fall. I purchased this vintage plate at the Goodwill for 55 cents ~ Yet another view of the precious shoes I wonder what the little girl was like who wore these. Was she a dainty little blonde and blue-eyed sweetie, or maybe a brown eyed girl with a lot of spunk, or even possibly a beautiful curly top redhead ?
Some goodies I picked up recently~ I hope you enjoyed my quickly thrown together
White Wednesday today.
Be sure and visit Kathleen at Faded Charm
for other White Wednesday links.
Blessings~

Treasure Seeking and FINDING !

OH my did I find treasures when mom and I were
out and about Wednesday! We went to a local college rummage sale that is and annual event and is is
HUGE~ Every year people stand in a line that snakes around
part of the college to attend this event that is filled
with used items and also new items that are donated
by local stores.
{they raise approx. $25,000 every year at this event
and use it for scholarships for needy young people}

The overhead doors open promptly at
9am and people just swarm inside.
It is so much fun~
I never know which department to look at first,
but you have to figure it out fast or you will
get run over by people...lol ~
Just look at all the goodies I found~ Bling, bling everywhere~
This tiara was my biggest splurge.
We stayed until about 11 am
purchased our goodies and then went to lunch. At lunch I decided I wanted to go back
because at approx. 1 pm
everything is 1/2 off~
So back we went. I had my eye on this pretty tiara
the first time around. The store price attached was 73.95,
but they had $20 on it. I just couldn't justify spending
even $20 so I left it there.
When we went back for the 1/2 off sale
it was still there so I think it was meant to be.
Snagged it for $10.00 ~
I found several pieces of antique lace~
I
ADORE
these Madonnas~
Just to give you an idea of the prices...
The cream bottle brush tree...10 cents.
FOUR KD Vintage tinsel trees for 25 cents each! I priced these KD trees online when I got home
and a PAIR of them retail for $49.99 ! I had no idea!
But I do have a story...I had two 10 inch trees and two
17 inch trees in my sack. Well...when I got home and unloaded
it all there were only THREE . I was missing a 17 inch tree.
I have tried and tried to figure out what happened
to the other one to no avail. I had the bag the whole time
and I didn't think it could have fallen out, but who knows.
I guess someone else was meant to have that one. But I am still thrilled to have three of them!
Aren't they gorgeous ~
A vintage flower corsage ...10 cents~
Brand new bookmarks...10 cents each ~
Are you getting the picture about the prices?
NOW I need YOUR Help please!!
These next three photos are of a three tiered
round display stand that I purchased. I have seen this all set up in a past issue of a magazine with cream
bottle brush trees and I believe the cardboard glitter
houses on it. It is SO NEAT! But I need to find that
photo because I purchased the felt pieces in the Christmas department
{for 50 cents} and the round display discs were in a totally different
department {for $1.00}. The part that hooks them alltogether
is missing {probably was in yet a different department...lol}
and I need to see that photo so hubby can get this together for me.
I thought I had saved it, but I can't find it anywhere. I
think it was an ad in the magazine , but I am not sure.
Each one of these felt pieces fit over a wooden disk
and then the icicles drape over the edge.
Can anyone help me??
I hope you enjoyed my wonderful treasures! I missed this sale
last year because I totally forgot about it and was so bummed. I vowed that would NOT happen again...:)

Blessings~

Breathtaking Images ~

I just had to share these gorgeous images with you.
I purchased these from Eva last week and I think
that I will be heading up there again
tomorrow and dig around for some more treasures.
My husband may be working tomorrow for the first time in months,
so that is a good thing. When I go to Eva's antique store he tells people
that I went "to a store that is dusty and has a basement full
of thousands of books that smell that way too"...
lol...he doesn't share my desire to rescue what I can before she closes,
but he is always my biggest fan no matter what I do.

I wanted to make these images high resolution , but my
computer is on another slow streak today so I had to settle for
lower resolution. I do hope you enjoy them anyway.
Have a wonderful day! Blessings~
