Bear Creek Farms with the Aldridge Sisters and Otwell Twins

Now that I have a whole day to return to normalcy....I can now give you details of my Thursday at Bear Creek Farms.

I went to see the Aldridge Sisters and the Otwell Twins perform.

Here's a few interesting shots I took at Bear Creek....

I wonder if this guy ever auditioned for the Maestro?

These are some sweet vintage wheels.....

....and yes, Indiana also makes fine wines, and not just know for auto racing, basketball and the Colts

I saw both the 2:00 and 7:30 shows, they did a great job as always singing and entertaining the crowd. The Aldridge Sisters (Sherry and Sheila) began with "It Takes Two", followed by "Angel" dedicated to their sister Sue who passed away less than a year ago, excited the fans with "Dancing Queen" and very soulful and melancholic with "Blue Bayou".

Next up were the Otwell Twins (Roger and David), they sang about their Martin Guitars, saluted John Denver with "Take Me Home, Country Roads" and performed some of their own material like "How Do You Say Goodbye" just to name a few.

Later, the fellas were joined by the girls....and really brought back memories when they sang numbers like "Knee Deep In Loving You", "Oh Shenandoah", "Never Ending Song Of Love", "California Dreamin" and of course the Welk Show's Adios closing song!

The whole day was great, especially the meet and greet aftershows....it was like catching up with old friends.

The Aldridge Sisters and Otwell Twins at Bear Creek......so far

There's nothing quite like Autumn in Indiana in the countryside.

Especially at Bear Creek Farms where my pals, the Aldridge Sisters and the Otwell Twins are performing live in concert.

Right now, I'm in between shows....saw the 2:00 and getting ready for the 7:30 in about two hours time, I'm now enjoying an old fashioned country dinner courtesy of the Bear Creek folks!

Isn't that delicioius? All under the watchful eyes of Mel Tillis.

Matinee show was terrific, too bad my seat wasn't that great....not ideal for picture taking but hopefully the evening show would bring more promise to this shutterbug.

I think I can get used to this simple country life....

Bear Creek....the morning after

Back home again in Toledo, I'm just starting to re-adjust to reality after spending a whole day of fun at Bryant, Indiana's Bear Creek Farms!

Seeing the trio of Gail, Sandi and Mary Lou was fun....both the 2:00 and 7:30 shows were awesome!

This is just a sample of the pictures I took, I will be organizing and choose which of the best ones will go on my flagship webpage.

For now, I'll leave you with Mary Lou Metzger.....beautiful as always!

Bear Creek so far.....

This is what I call a Chamber of Commerce day in east central Indiana, sunny and not a cloud in the sky.

On may way to Bear Creek Farms, I just had to stop by and take this picture...

Tem minutes to the south, lies Portland.....hometown of music maker Jack Imel!

And this is downtown Portland.

Now we go to the show....Gail, Sandi and Mary Lou were the featured performers, and in the 2:00 matinee....they looked and sounded great!

Right now, I'm eating some dinner at the restaurant....getting ready for the 7:30 evening show and that should be fun!

More to come later

Twas the night before Bear Creek....

.....all throughout Toledo, which is very neat-o. I'm at work right now, just bloggin' and dreamin' of what's to come in the cornfields of Northeastern Indiana.....other than horses and cows.

Once I get back home tonight, the final preparations will be all set....tickets, camera, wardrobe and CDs of music while I drive. I'll also be blogging at Bear Creek....if they have WiFi.

Okay, that's enough of rhyming for now....I just know it's going to be a fun day tomorrow.

Now it's back to work, and catch some of the Dancing With The Stars finale on television.

Greetings from Bear Creek!

After a whole day's work of blood and sweat, plus some computer issues thrown in....I have my pictures of the Gail, Sandi and Mary Lou concert from Bear Creek Farms up and running!

It's one for the history books! Each and every one of the girls was super sweet and nice, and their harmonies were picture perfect!

And here's the link, hope you enjoy them!

Quality time with Mary Lou Metzger.....and go Eagles

Right now, I'm still working on putting a few of my pictures from the Bear Creek show on my webpage.

I always enjoy my time after concerts meeting and talking with the Welk stars, and last Tuesday got to have some quality time with the lovely Mary Lou Metzger.

We talked about a variety of things, such as Welk, Richard Maloof (her husband), the upcoming reunion show in Branson (she was happy to hear that I'm going!) and her growing up in Pennsylvania.

Since she was born in Pittsburgh, and spent her childhood in Philadelphia....I asked the one question that the world has always pondered.

Steelers or Eagles?

I hate to break it you you guys in Black & Gold, but Mary Lou told me she's an Eagles fan.

If Mary Lou and Richard happen to stumble on this blog, here's a nice moment in Eagles history from YouTube that brings back pleasant memories for them and many other fine football fans.

Feels real good for a Monday

Okay....It may not be beach weather but it sure does feel nice and comfortable here in Toledo...

Ready for tonight's college football title game....sorry LSU fans but I'm pulling for the Bucks.

My ticket for the Forever Blowing Bubbles show (June in Eastlake) and a receipt for my tix to see Gail, Sandi & Mary Lou in concert (July at Bear Creek Farms) arrived in the mail today....so I am locked in.

And of course, I'll be sure to provide pictures as well...

I have a feeling that 2008 will be a productive year for all things Welk....at least for this blogmeister.
