snow adorable | echo park paper

I created this layout for Echo Park Paper using their "The Magic of Winter" collection.

I couldn't resist using the adorable winter blues for this photo of my cute kiddo playing in the snow!

One of my favorite go-to techniques is machine stitching - I stitched a double frame around this page.

And I love the faux stitching on these "stitched circle" dies too!

Family Tradition Layout | Pebbles Inc.

One of my resolutions for this year is to document some of the photos and memories that have been stacking up on my bookcase. The "This is Family" collection was a perfect match for documenting a photo taken a few years ago at my husband's annual winter family party!

This collection has a huge array of colors and patterns, but I wanted to keep it simple, so I chose black and white with pops of yellow and orange from the papers and embellishments.

There is obviously a variety of "family" themed pieces in this collection so it worked great for my needs.

You'll also spy a bit of machine stitching around the edges of the patterned papers - I just can't help myself! It's a fun way to add a bit of unexpected texture as well as a pop of color to a project.

Well, how about YOU? Do you have a stack of photos and memories waiting to be recorded and added to your albums? Why not start today? Grab a family photo and the "This is Family" collection and see what you can whip up! Your family will thank you!!

Five Guys Layout | Pebbles Inc.

I recently shared a layout over on the Pebbles Inc. blog for "guys week!" Of course, with 3 sons of my own, plus my husband, and a son-in-law, there is no shortage of guys (and photos of guys) around here! I had fun using the "Peek-A-Boo-You Boy" collection to create a non-baby boy layout!

I used my brand new ek tools 2 1/4" circle punch to create the fun circle border on the right side of this page. It was fun choosing different pieces to focus on, then punch them out and create a little lined-up collage.

I added stickers and other pieces of ephemera to embellish the circles as well!

Of course, I had to add a few additional embellishments too - a layout just isn't complete without some type of ribbon or twine - so I used twine on this one!

And, of course, a few faux-stitched tags tucked under the side of the photo:

And a quick and easy title with the printed die-cut and a few black letter stickers from my stash (anyone else have old American Crafts "Remarks" stickers they are hanging on to??)!

Do you have fun Christmas traditions that you repeat every single year?  The kind that don't really need a lot of explanation?  We do - and even though they don't need a lot of words, I always have photos that I want to use to document our fun family time.  Today I want to share the layout I created to document our traditional family Christmas Eve activities.  I shared it last month over on the Pebbles Inc. Blog! The kids always get new pajamas and a movie or game...just a few of the fun things we all look forward to every December 24th!
