today,the card set…

Today is last day I get to share a project with you as an official “’fetti friend” as my term ends the last day of February.  I’ve really loved using the products from Reverse Confetti and hope I’ve inspired you to at least take a look at their website and blog

WendySAIntro

Most of my projects over the last couple of months have been Valentine’s Day or Love themed. Not this time! I wanted to create a more generic set of cards.  I really loved the bold “Today” stamp in the “Right Here, Right Now” set and decided to use it to create a set of “everyday” note cards.

I wanted the “TODAY” to really stand out, so I used bright red ink (Doodlebug’s “Ladybug” Red ink by Colorbox) on smooth white cardstock.  I embellished each card differently, but used die-cut shapes, cut with the “Square Tag” and “Documented” Dies by Reverse Confetti.  I chose papers and brads from the “Anything Goes” collection by Echo Park Paper Co.

Thanks for stopping by my blog TODAY – and thanks again to the nice folks at Reverse Confetti for inviting me to join them for a few months! :)

Speaking of “TODAY,” I’ve had the words to this hymn playing over and over in my mind since I started this project – so I thought I’d share the lyrics here:

Today, while the sun shines, work with a will;
Today all your duties with patience fulfill.
Today, while the birds sing, harbor no care;
Call life a good gift; call the world fair.

Today, today, work with a will;
Today, today, your duties fulfill.
Today, today, work while you may;
Prepare for tomorrow by working today.

Today seek the treasure better than gold,
The peace and the joy that are found in the fold.
Today seek the gems that shine in the heart;
While here we labor, choose the better part.

Today seek for goodness, virtue, and truth,
As crown of your life and the grace of your youth.
Today, while the heart beats, live to be true,
Constant and faithful all the way through.

Now…Go out and take advantage of TODAY – make it a great one!!!

reverse confetti new release blog hop…

Hi there!  Happy Thursday – and welcome to this stop on the Reverse Confetti Blog Hop!  You should have arrived here from Stacey Schafer ‘s blog.  If you’re just joining in, please hop over to the Reverse Confetti blog to start at the beginning!

For today’s project, I used the “Sugary Sweet Sentiments” stamp set, the “square tag” and “puppy love” Confetti Cut dies to make these little Valentine’s Day treats.

I found these cute heart-shaped suckers and knew they’d be a fun little treat to share with some special kiddos. ;) The best part about it is that the cute tags were so quick and easy to make and they really make the treat special.

wendysue_sucker_green2I started by creating the tags with the “square tag” die – cut from papers found in Echo Park’s “Fine & Dandy” collection.

wendysue_sucker_orange2I didn’t want my tags to be “traditional” in valentine colors, but I wanted it to be obvious they were for Valentine’s Day, so I added a die-cut heart, with a die found in the puppy love die set. I added a heart to the center of each tag.wendysue_sucker_blue3

The arrows were part of a border sticker.  I cut them all apart, then cut them in half, tucking them under the hearts.

Finally, I used versamark ink to stamp the sentiment and black embossing powder to finish it up!  I used a simple white ribbon to tie the tags onto the sucker sticks.  And now I’m excited to have one little Valentine’s Day project already checked off my list!

By the way, if you love dressing up store-bought treats with a little handmade touch, you’ll definitely want to check out the sugary sweet stamp set – everything from suckers to mints and fish…lots of fabulous ideas and I can’t wait to try something else!

Now, don’t forget, this is a fabulous Reverse Confetti blog hop with lots of amazing ideas from the designers using all of the amazing products released this month – all of which are available TODAY!!  Just click over to the Reverse Confetti Shop after you’re done with the hop.  Your next stop will be the uber talented Sarah Gough – you won’t want to miss her awesome projects!  Have fun hopping along! :)

reverse confetti|love blooms…

Good morning!  Welcome to my second sneak peek post for Reverse Confetti’s new release!Today, the design team and I are sharing projects we created with the “Love Blooms” stamp set and coordinating Confetti Die Cuts!

wendysue_loveblooms_tag1

I started my projects by die-cutting the base and tag shapes with Confetti Cuts.  Next I stamped the words with pretty gray ink. I just love the friendship sentiments in this set …and how cute is the handwriting?!?

wendysue_loveblooms_tag2

Next, I die-cut the flowers and leaves from various papers in the “Yesterday” collection from Carta Bella Paper.  I inked the edges of everything with the same gray ink that I used to stamp the words and then I just started layering everything together.

I used foam adhesive to give some of the flowers a bit of dimension.  I also added a few stickers and some pretty brads to complete my tags.  You can see the dimension a little bit better in the photos below.

(On a side-note, I’ll be SO happy when the days are longer again – it’s hard get good photos after I get home from work because it’s already starting to get dark outside. I really should invest in some good lights for taking project photos inside in the winter…)

I’m excited to have these on-hand in my stash to give to a friend with a little “just because” gift sometime.
