Toado
Toados are Enemies in Twilight Princess.[1]
Characteristics
Toados are small, tadpole-like Monsters with a round, blue-green body, glowing, red eyes and large, purple lips that give a scowling expression, a cream underbelly, and a short tail with three pairs of multicolored plates and a small, red tail fin on its tip. Their eggs are covered in slime and resemble eyes with red irises.
Toados only appear during the battle against Deku Toad in Lakebed Temple, where they hatch from eggs on its back in large groups that simultaneously attack Link. They are easily defeated with the Sword, with Spin Attacks proving a particularly effective move due to their swarming behavior. It is also possible to destroy the eggs before they hatch by shooting the back of Deku Toad with Bomb Arrows.
Trivia
- Toados, like Deku Toad, appear to draw inspiration from the common Suriname toad, a species which implants their eggs into their backs to provide protection until they are ready to hatch. However, Suriname toads emerge from the mother toad as fully formed frogs as opposed to tadpoles.
