Sticky Notes holder

Hello, and welcome!

In my day job, I work in an office, and it seems as if we run on sticky notes!

We stick them on the wall to keep track of things we need to do.  We leave messages for one another, use them to write reminders for ourselves - and even use them to clean between the keys on our keyboards ( if you've never come across that particular trick, you run the sticky edge of the note between the keys - it picks up all the dust and yucky stuff that gets stuck in there!)

Today's project is a cute holder, and I've made it using the envelope punch board - which is an amazingly versatile bit of kit.

Here's how -

These are quick and easy to make, and I'm making a batch of them as thank you gifts for my customers in July.

And speaking of July - Stampin' Up! are offering a FAB-U-LOUS bonus for new Demonstrators who join in July.  As well as your Starter Kit of £130-worth of items (which you choose!) for your £99 joining fee, you get to choose one of the ink pad families - that's 10 ink pads that usually sell for £63! Which will you choose?  Soft Subtles, rich Regals, bold Brights, necessary Neutrals or In Colours?
What a great time to join Stampin' Up!

Faceted box

Hello, and welcome to my blog.

The blogging has been a bit hit-and-miss lately and for that I apologise.  There's barn quite a bit going on with the family that's taken up a lot of my time and energy. I won't bore you with the details, but it has meant that sometimes the blogging has to be hit and run.

Thankfully, I have crafting to help me relax and keep me sane.  Designing projects and working out the details occupies my mind, and making the projects keeps my hands busy.

Today's project started off to be a little domed box, but I played around with the measurements and got this interesting shape.  Here's how it went together -

Here's the cutting/scoring diagram -

And you'll find the products I used below.  I've been playing with items from the new catalogue just to tease you - but it's not too long to wait before you can get your hands on them, with the new catalogue open for business at the beginning of June.  I'm so excited...!

Keep crafting,

Keren

A box for a snow globe

Hello and welcome!

It seems as if everyone loves unicorns – so who could resist this sweet little snow globe?  I couldn’t, so of course I had to get it when I spotted it.
Once I’d brought it home, I decided that it would make a lovely gift for a friend of mine who just adores unicorns – so I made a box for it.
To make sure the box was the right size, I measured the height of the snow globe and across the widest point of the base.  It was 2 ¾ inches high and 2 inches across.

Then I did some calculations to work out how much paper I needed.

The box needed a base,(2") sides (2 3/4") and a lid (2") - that adds up to 6 3/4"

My box needs four sides that are 2" and 1/2 " to join the edges together, so that adds  up to 8 1/2"

So I need a piece of paper or card that's 6 3/4 " by 8 1/2". Simples!

Here's the tutorial about how to put it together -

Don't you think that, by putting the gift in a little box, it seems more impressive somehow?  I hope my friend likes it - what do you think?

Tiny Wreath Card

Hello - and welcome!

Well, have you seen the colour revamp yet?  It's the first update of the core colours since 2013 and 13 colours are being replaced so it's pretty big news.  The retiring colours are -

  • Always Artichoke
  • Chocolate Chip
  • Elegant Eggplant
  • Island Indigo
  • Marina Mist
  • Perfect Plum
  • Pink Pirouette
  • Rose Red
  • Soft Sky
  • Tangerine Tango
  • Tempting Turquoise
  • Wild Wasabi
  • Wisteria Wonder

I must admit that there are a few colours that I'll be sad to say goodbye to - Island Indigo and Elegant Eggplant were particular favourites - and some I won't miss (I think I used Always Artichoke a couple of times).

I still have stocks of retiring colours and I will be using them in projects between now and catalogue go-live - but please remember that the things I use will be available while stocks last, so if you've got a favourite that's going to be leaving, don't wait to order!

In today's card I've used Soft Sky card, as well as the mini Embroidery Hoops which will be retiring at the end of May.  The Quilt Top embossing folder isn't retiring - and neither are the Good Day stamps (Yay!) so some of the supplies I used will be sticking around.

Here's the video -
I really liked the way this came out - what do you think?

It's in the bag!

Hello, and welcome.

Today I'm sharing a CASE'd project (CASE stands for Copy And Share Everything).  The original is by Mixed Up Crafts (go and take a look at her YouTube channel!) This sweet little box holds itself closed by tucking the flaps into slots at the sides - it's just so clever!

I did make some tweaks to the original, which was made with two pieces of 6x6.  Here's how I did it

Here are the measurements

Don't you love this paper? It's only around until the end of March as it's one of the items in Sale-A-Bration (but the good news is that you can get it for free with a qualifying purchase!  Yay!) But the end of March is approaching fast, so if you've got your eye on this DSP or any of the other lovely things in the brochure, you need to act fast!

Keep Crafting,

Keren
