数学家백진언（Jineon Baek）宣称解决了移动沙发问题 - 知乎
11 月 29 日，arXiv 贴出了一篇长达 119 页的论文（图一），声称解决了困扰数学界近 60 年的移动沙发问题。论文作者是来自延世大学的백진언（Jineon Baek，图二）
移动沙发问题指的是 1966 年 Leo Moser 正式提出的一个平面优化问题：在宽度为 1 的直角平面走廊中，能够刚性（即不变形）地通过的沙发面积最大值是多少？
此前数学家们发现的面积最大解是 1992 年 Gerver 构造的由 18 条光滑曲线围成的沙发，它的面积约为 2.2195：（图三、图四）
此后数学家没有找到更优的解，也没能从数学上严格证明 Gerver 沙发就是最优解。而백진언在论文中证明了 Gerver 沙发就是面积最大的最优解。
