11 月 11 日，22 岁的挪威渔民 Harald Engen 的渔网缠住了美国海军弗吉尼亚号核潜艇的螺旋桨（SSN774）。
SSN774 在拖拽渔网前进了 2 海里左右后发出了求救信号，挪威海警随后派出救援力量将网割开。
美军第六舰队发言人 Lt. Pierson Hawkins 称，事件还在调查中。
