首次实现经眼眶切除脊柱肿瘤 - 环球科学
此前，医生可能会经由眼眶切除患者大脑或鼻窦中的肿瘤。然而，据美国马里兰大学医学院（University of Maryland School of Medicine）消息，该学院神经外科医生领导的团队首次成功经由眼眶切除了患者脊柱上的肿瘤。
据悉，这位19岁的女性患者长有两个脊索瘤，较大的一个包裹着脑干，较小的一个缠绕在脊柱和脊髓上，并入侵了颈部颅底以下的椎骨。如果从背部尝试切除脊柱肿瘤，可能会损伤脊髓，还可能损伤咽鼓管、颈静脉和控制吞咽和言语的神经等。
因此，2024年4月至5月，该患者一共接受了3次手术，先通过传统的开颅手术切除了大脑中的肿瘤，而后又经由眼眶切除了脊柱部分的肿瘤。在第3次手术中，医生切开了她下眼睑的结膜，移除了眼眶底部和部分颧骨，并在口腔内做了切口，最终开辟了一条通道，使手术工具得以穿入鼻窦、到达颈椎。切除肿瘤后，医生也用钛板重建了患者的眼眶底部，并用患者髋部的骨头重建了颧骨。
据《华盛顿邮报》消息，患者目前预后良好，并无复发迹象。
