eml(x,y) = exp(x) - ln(y)
连同常数 1 一起,可以生成科学计算器的全部标准函数库。这包括常数 e、π 和 i;算术运算 +、−、×、÷ 和幂运算,以及通常的超越函数和代数函数。例如,e^x = eml(x,1),ln x = eml(1, eml(eml(1,x),1)),其他运算亦然。此前并未预料到这样的运算符的存在;我通过系统的穷举搜索发现了它,并从构造性角度证明它足以构成具体科学计算器的基础。在 EML(Exp-Minus-Log)形式中,每个这样的表达式都成为相同节点的二叉树,产生的文法简单到 S → 1 | eml(S,S)。这种统一结构也使得基于梯度的符号回归成为可能:将 EML 树作为可训练电路,配合标准优化器(Adam),我证明了在树深度不超过 4 的情况下,可以从数值数据中精确恢复闭式初等函数的可行性。同样的架构可以拟合任意数据,但当生成规律是初等函数时,它可能恢复出精确的公式。
