zelous666 on The Nuclear Option

Thanks. This was one of the ones that as soon as I saw the commander I wanted to see if I could build a deck around him. The idea of ramping energy more and more and watching the opponents sweat as they realize they can't stop what's about to happen makes it feel like a true villain deck.

Caerwyn on Why is Mark Rosewater so …

As folks evidently cannot engage in this discussion without personal snipes and editorial, I am going to close this thread.

Further, the primary question was already answered - twice now, since this was a duplicative thread from the start. Rosewater has repeatedly discussed his reasoning is purely mechanical - he wants to keep poison separate from health. To mechanically distinguish the two, health can go up and down; poison (generally) only goes up.

Darklonjr My goal isn't to win early so being fast enough isn't a giant concern. I've generally had enough interaction to survive most early games between discard and kill spells. The go wide decks can be slightly problematic if I don't draw a sweeper at a reasonable time though. The surveil lands are for obvious card selection and putting targets into the graveyard for reanimation. Fabled passage isn't something I want a lot of for the "speed" factor. Some copies have been helpful for mana fixing and ramp in cases where I can animate them with badgermole cub. Same benefit applies to the surveil land. (I should probably state that this isn't the current decklist though for clarity.) That being said, the wastewood verge does seem like something I can work in without too much trouble, probably cutting some swamps for them. The "professor" doesn't strike me as something I might want though. Getting to 4 mana has been difficult sometimes and overlord is really good at helping me get there. Especially given the desire to have 5 mana for reanimation.

But I digress, thank you for your input. At some point I'll try to updating the list so you can see the current version.

Just let me preface this with: the only time I did woodworking was high school, for maybe a month.

This seems like an excellent use case for a CNC! Maybe layers of wood to make layered cards? Everytime I see them I think "That is so cool, too bad it's so small I can't make out any details" and this would solve that!
