Due to lack of time to update my Substack, this page is for a shortened update on my recent thoughts.
These are probably the topics you’d like to start if you’re interested in listening to me talking non-stop.

- 📣 BREAKING NEWS: I have joined Junyi Academy Foundation as a Frontier Education AI Research Engineer
- I will be leading research and technical deployment aimed at mitigating AI-driven cognitive risks and gradual disempowerment in educational environments.
- working on studies about agent evaluation pipeline and sandbagging mechanisms of LLMs development to extend my interest in technical AI safety.
- drafting digital rights lessons plans for junior high students with colleagues in judicial reform foundation.
- self-studying Spanish and German at the same time (with only limited proficiency in Spanish, at least for now, since I just started German few months ago).
Recently finished or published…
- Finished thesis “The Dynamics of Multi-Stakeholders and Policy Environment: From Digital Intermediary Service Act to AI Fundamental Act”, held a dual-research presentation & salon w/ my friend Steven.
- Just officially graduated from high school, which was unexpected a year ago (thought it’d be unnecessary to sacrifice my time for the diploma) but turns out I still managed to finish the credits.
- 🚗🏍️ I just passed the driver’s license for both automobile and motorcycle!!!
Living with…
- 🥃 keen on trying all types of gin tonic with different gin (with friends) and scotch, with a particular love in brandy cask (with myself).
- 🥊 taking boxing courses with my friend Leon.
- 🎮 trying to make time for replaying one of my favorite games Nine Sols.
- 📺 rewatching Better Call Saul, recently just finished rewatching Suits, Breaking Bad and Adolescence
- Btw I just finished Fight Club two times in a row.
- 🧳 planning a road-trip with my friends in August
Recent thoughs (also to remind myself)…
- I’ve spent time in industry roles solving AI efficiency and commercial value, and I’ve seen how models behave in production and its risks of unmonitored deployment. I want to apply the same technical rigor to safety-critical domains. Instead of optimizing for accuracy, I’d like to move toward optimizing for interpretability and robustness.
- Always remember to take a look around, are the people working with you still the people you want to work with? Do you still hold the same caring of values? Are they still your allies?
- A researcher’s “taste” is defined by the breadth of their knowledge. Having the vision to recognize great research (taste it), understand what makes it great (know it), and possess the capability to execute it (cook it).
- Interdisciplinary work requires you to first recognize that boundaries exist. You have to push far enough into one domain to hit the limits of its theories or tools, forcing you to bring in perspectives from another field, which is driven by the need to solve a specific problem.
- Looking back at my earlier work, in hindsight, I recognize that framing media literacy as “just an educational issue” was a form of avoidance, a byproduct of feeling helpless when confronted by a massive, complex systemic problem. It felt as though by reducing the challenge to “something we can only fix starting with the next generation,” we could justify or ignore our own current shortcomings.
- As I equipped myself with more technical tools and cultivated a pragmatic perspective through engineering practice, I began to see a much clearer blueprint for solutions.
