Queen Silvia and Princess Madeleine of Sweden hosted little Enna from Skåne, age 7, at the Royal Palace in Stockholm on September 12, 2016. Enna has a disease that makes life extra tough. This visit was made possible through the Min Stora Dag foundation (My Big Day), which helps make dreams come true for children and young people with serious illnesses. It was Enna’s wish to meet the Queen and Princess Madeleine.

Princess Charlene of Monaco, Goodwill Ambassador for the International Federation of the Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC), attended the launch of World First Aid Day 2016 at the United Nations in Geneva, Switzerland on September 9, 2016 where she spoke at a news conference and held a demonstration for children on how to practice first aid.

The Princess called for children everywhere to be trained in first aid by encouraging Governments and Ministries of Education to make first aid a mandatory part of school curriculums: “Empowering young people as first aid providers will not just save lives. It will prepare them for a future in which they can be an active and responsible citizen in their local communities.”
