Rocket Ship Craft!
Step 1: Gather your materials! Print out your free rocket ship templates on cardstock paper. Remember, you can use any color! Print out your rocket ship on dark gray paper to depict the ship in outer space. Use scissors to cut out the rocket ship shapes. Print the colored shapes or print out the blank shapes, and have your little ones color them in themselves! Use a glue stick to paste each shape to its matching outline.
Step 2: Use scissors to cut out your streamers. Either fold or cut them in half, then glue them to the bottom of the rocket ship. Don’t have streamers? Use ribbons or construction paper instead. If you LOVE colorful crafts, be sure to check out the Suncatcher Craft!
Step 3: Next, add a bit of glitter to your night sky! Finally, peel and stick colorful stars onto the paper. This is a great motion to build pincher strength. Make the craft your own! Watercolor in the night sky, or use markers and crayons to add some creative flourishes!
Rocket Ship Blast Off!
Be sure to hang your rocket ship craft somewhere that needs a little inspiration! Be sure to ask your little ones questions while completing the activity. Have you ever seen a real rocket ship? When is the best time to see stars in the sky? What color is each shape on the rocket ship? Check out the Popsicle Craft for another great summertime craft!
Rocket Ship Books for Preschool
A great way to celebrate the rocket ship is by picking up a good book about an outer space adventure! Reading with your little ones is a great way to build a social connection, build vocabulary skills, and discover potential interests! Read “How to Catch a Star”, “Moon! Earth’s Best Friend”, and “There’s No Place Like Space!”
My Favorite Supply Picks for this Craft
My favorite supplies for this craft are cardstock paper, colorful streamers, and foam star stickers. Cardstock paper is thicker and easier for your little ones to cut and foam stickers are great for having your little ones practice their peeling and sticking skills.
