What a show!! Two sets of some of the best Jazz has to offer! The Horace Silver Quintet delivers an hour and a half of music in 5 songs. Lots of soloing and jamming on a theme here! Horace Silver is an awesome piano player, song writer, and band leader. Horace has always been able to surround himself with some of the finest players in Jazz. I'm glad I started my Sunday Morning Jazz Session with this show. It was the perfect soundtrack to watching the deer in my back yard eating pine needles off my trees, while I'm sipping on a nice cup of freshly ground French Roast Coffee (which I'm not sure if French even drink this nice dark roast, a name is a name). One of the deer came up and looked right in my living room window last night. It's my little Heaven on Earth...

justdave notes:
I downloaded this recording from the bernie's bootlegs and more YouTube channel in MPEG-4 video format. The recording did not have video just audio, I used Goldwave to convert the MPEG-4 into a 16bit wave. Goldwave was also used to edit track marks. I then used Traders Little Helper to encode the audio to MP3 320kbps.

bernie's bootlegs and more original upload notes:
Here's some great music from The Horace Silver Quintet recorded in 1973 at Boston and Pori, Finland. I had Previously posted tracks 01-03 and realized afterwards I had an additional show with the exact same lineup recorded a few weeks later in Pori, Finland. I believe these two shows make up the 2 complete sets of Horace's "In Pursuit of the 27th Man" tour. Both feature Randy & Michael Brecker and some nice solo's with the Jazz Legend himself. Taken from FM Broadcasts (without DJ talk) and complete with stage conversation. Many thanks to Carville for the Boston set. Enjoy this 40 Year Old fine set of Silver

Great performance from one of the originators of Hard Bop, a true must have. I got this from BigO, a great resource for boots from a variety of recording artists and genres.
