David Lindley, constant touring partner of Jackson Browne, has died at age 78, no cause was given. David was known for being a very wanted side musician. He's played with Jackson Brown of course but also with Linda Ronstadt, Ry Cooder, Bonnie Raitt, Warren Zevon, and Curtis Mayfield as well as others. David also branched out into a solo career when not making some of Rock, Country and Soul acts look good. Lindley played on at least 2 of the shows on this 3 CD collection. I also included in the text file BigO's obituary for David.

The file set is pretty big so the flac CDs are uploaded separately and the MP3 has been split into 2 parts. All parts can open separately.

This is a re-post of sorts. On October 29, 2015 I posted the Eagles portion of this bootleg. I did not have the Jackson Browne portion and wanted to post this great show to honor Glen Frey. I have since obtained the Jackson Browne portion and have a complete source. The links to the old post were broken so I figured if I was re-posting, I might as well post the whole thing. Both performances are fabulous must haves.

I divided the Flac files into 3 separate zip files and the MP3 into 2 separate zip files due to their size. All zips may be open independently.

Digitized From The Original Radio Broadcast Vinyl

Draftervoi's original notes:
I've digitized a half dozen or so of these Superstars In Concert shows, and this one has more music than usual.  On all of the prior shows, the music easily fit on an 80 minute CD, with room to spare. This Jackson Browne show is several minutes too long to fit on one CD, even if leave out the the show intro, outro and all of the breaks.

Browne is joined by David Lindley, who plays some nice slide guitar on this one.

(.... and there's a certain irony in hearing Mr. Browne sponsored by the U.S. Army Reserve.  :)

NOTE:  I've seen this show reposted on other websites, attributed to  "Shoreline Amphitheater."  I do not know if that is correct; at no time during this show do they refer to where the show was recorded. There is a DIFFERENT Westwood One show (86-E) that was from Shoreline,  but this is not that show.  They may be right... both shows may have been recorded at Shoreline, but there's nothing in the original syndicated broadcast that indicates that's true.

This is the complete FM simulcast to the ABC-TV In Concert broadcast of the first California Jam. I have done my best to edit around the commercially released tracks while not taking away from the listening pleasure. If your like me this will take you back in time. I remember watching this on TV with my family. My parents liked Seals & Crofts, and The Eagles but the rest was just a little too much for them. They did like Keith Emerson's keyboard solo and the spinning piano sequence. I remember when Blackmore's amp blew up during "Space Truckin'" my my Dad making a comment that the "..fu##ing idiots almost killed their guitar player trying to be cool!"

this is a large file set so the flac is in 4 parts, the mp3 is divided in 2.
