Bassist Scott Smith died November 30, 2000 at the age of 45 in a sailing accident. He was swept overboard by a large wave while entertaining some friends on his sailboat. The accident happened in the San Francisco Bay near the Golden Gate Bridge. His body was never found.
I have seen Loverboy in concert once. It was a show with Shooting Star and I do believe Kansas headlined. It was a long time ago when I was in High School. It was a school night so I had to sneak out of the house. Then sneak back in when I got home. I made it safe but was so tired the next day I convinced a girl I was dating to skip school so we could go to her home and I could sleep. I did a lot of that back then.
