Bill Ward drums all tracks CD2

Our next offering for our salute to Ronnie James Dio is from his days with Black Sabbath, more specific, the Heaven & Hell World Tour. This set offers tracks from 3 different shows over 2 packed CD's.

When Black Sabbath re-united the classic line-up after many years apart, Bill Ward commented that the way the band played had changed. He said during his time with the band they had played by "feel". When Sabbath started playing with different drummers the band started playing "time". This was hard for Bill to get used to as he still played by "feel" and never plays a song the same way twice. This great collection gives us a chance to compare the drumming of Bill Ward and first replacement Vinnie Appice. CD1 is Vinnie Appice and CD2 has Bill Ward. The second half of the CD is of special note, being an unknown soundboard from the USA tour.

The file set was almost a gig so I split the flac in 2 parts all parts needed to unzip.

With the anniversary of Ronnie James Dio's passing comes closer Rosebud and I have decided to pay tribute the man with bootlegs from his various bands. Up first is an offering from his days in Ritchie Blackmore's Rainbow. More specifically the Rainbow Rising line-up. Considered by many to be the definitive version of the band, which would only last to the recording sessions for the follow up album started. This 2 CD bootleg is comprised of tracks from 3 Japan shows. The concerts in Germany and Japan during the Rising Tour were recorded to make the On Stage live album. With a heavy metal sound and the improvisational skills of MK2 era Deep Purple, it's no small wonder this line-up is loved by so many.

Great performance from the masters of Hard Rock Power Pop Cheap Trick. Westwood One caught the band ripping up the stage at The Joint in Las Vegas. Not only do they play a set of fan favorites, they include a stunning tribute to John Lennon/The Beatles. The John Lennon track "Cold Turkey" is given the Cheap Trick treatment leading into "Heaven Tonight" which leads into The Beatles "Magical Mystery Tour". All of this in great pre-fm quality.

This nice sounding recording of Cypress Hill in concert should have been part of our 4-20 celebration, but I got high and forgot about it. Any way better late than never. This recording comes from Cypress Hill's tour for there 3rd album Cypress Hill III: Temples of Boom. The album hit #3 on both The Billboard 200 & Billboard Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums. The album was a departure from the first 2 in that the tempos were slowed down and eerie effects were used to convey the uneasy feelings within Cypress members. Sen Dog had temporarily left to pursue some other projects. The band was also having a feud with rapper Ice Cube who Cypress Hill thought was stealing material from them.
