James Farm is another great band fronted by Saxophonist Joshua Redman. Joshua Redman son of  Jazz Legend Dewy Redman should be no stranger to long time visitors of The New JDP as I have posted many shows featuring him.

I downloaded this recording from a website called Live Jazz Lounge. Live Jazz Lounge is one of my favorite places to download unreleased Jazz recordings. The recordings are usually soundboard quality and in MP4 vbr, although some in the archive are MP3. If you like Jazz do yourself a favor and check out this great resource!

I ripped the waves with DVD Audio Extractor. I used Goldwave to re-edit some track marks, no EQ, noise reduction or remixing was done. The waves were encoded to MP3 320kbps because the DVD had lossy audio.

Leif Edling formed Candlemass in 1984 after the break up of his band Nemesis. The bands debut album, Epicus Doomicus Metallicus, released in 1986, is considered a Doom Metal Classic. In 1986 it's combination of slow heavy Black Sabbath like riffs and the Operatic vocals of Johan Längqvist sent shock waves through the Heavy Metal Underground. The band has gone through some line-up shifts over the years, 5 vocalists, 3 guitarists, 2 drummers, and 1 keyboard player. Over the years Leif Edling has been the one remaining constant. The band has settled on a line-up that features three musicians from the "classic era" guitarists Mats "Mappe" Björkman & Lars Johansson, & drummer Jan Lindh. On vocals is Mats Levén, formerly of Therion & Krux. This recording sounds great and the band just crushes the audience with a powerful performance. One of my all time favorite bands I can not recommend this enough!

Nice sound, a great set, and a fabulous performance. One of the best keyboard players in Progressive Rock performs some selections from his solo career, a classic Yes track "Starship Trooper" and a cover of The Beatles "Eleanor Rigby". Simply a must have!
