Lots Of New Links And Some New Shows Too!!!

Well we've been busy here behind the scenes once again. We have some more re-posts as well as some new posts.

First the requests. We had a request for some Nazareth links to be re-posted so all the Nazareth links work again. Also there was a request for a Johnny Winter Robin Trower King Bisquit show so I reposted all the Johnny Winter and Robin Trower shows. There was also  a request for the Little River Band BBC Rock Hour Pre-FM that post is now again active. I have also re-posted all Muddy Waters & Foghat shows including the Foghat Tribute To The Blues with performances with performances by Johnny Winter, Muddy Waters, Paul Butterfield, John Lee Hooker, & Honey Boy Edwards to name a few.

There was a request to re-post my own verson of the 1984 Bachman Turner Overdrive Harpo's Detroit, Michigan show. It's a composite of my FM recording and my friend Gypsy Dan's recording to make a complete show. The common version found on the net is missing the final encore. I have been told my version sounds a lot better as well. It's now available here. More BTO con the site here.

All Gov't Mule shows are back on line. I have also started re-posting all the Punk, Hardcore and New Wave shows. Billy Idol, Black Flag, Crass, Iggy Pop, Iggy & The Sooges, Melvins, Misfits, Danzig, Ramones, Rollins Band, Cramps, Sick Of It All, Suicidal Tendencies, Agnostic Front are all on line.

Thank You Once Again For All Your Requests And Your Patience While We Rebuild.

When I originally posted The PMG Companion Volume 1 (1976 – 1980) there were a lot of requests for Volume 2. I downloaded Volume 1 from the etre.org torrent tracker, Volume 2 disappeared before I could download it. It came back so I grabbed it.

The PMG Companion, Vol. II: 1981 – 1982 "The Travels Companion" is actually meant to be just that, a companion to the official Travels live album. With this 2 CD set along with the Travels LP you have a commercial quality recording of every song the second line-up of The Pat Metheny Group performed live in it's 2 years together.

This set like Volume 1 comes with a very comprehensive set of liner notes for each track. The artwork was put together with special care as well. if you loved Volume 1 you will love Volume 2. If you don't have Volume 1 yet I have it here. If you want more Pat Metheny shows you can find them on the site here.

justdave's notes:
This comes from my own silver CD that I bought for $3.99 US. I knew it was unofficial as soon as I saw the inside picture wasn't with Manny Chartlton like on the front.

Recorded while Nazareth was on tour for The Catch. Sounds like a small intimate venue. There is a bootleg DVD of this show as well, but I have never seen it. Track 14 fades out to the Live From London Outro music.
The venue Camden Place comes from my research on the net, that info is not on the cover. I have come up with two possible dates for the show, June 10, 1985 and May 24, 1985. Since the bands tour itinerary says the played there twice I put down both dates. The same itinerary says the recording for the Live From London Show was to be recorded at either date. Also I don't know the name of the keyboard player for this tour, as John Locke was in the band from 1980-82, and Ronnie Leahy from 1994-02. Sound quality is excellent, all instruments are clear and there is no tape hiss, sounds like a pre broadcast source actually.

I first heard of Lords Of The New Church reading Rolling Stone magazine's review of a concert of theirs in London. I can't remember if it was a good review or not. I do remember the picture of Stiv Bators all contorted in what looked like passionate pain for each syllable he sang. I was a young Metal Head who also loved Punk Rock so I just had to hear these guys. Late night on WRIF-FM Detroit on Sunday they would play Heavy Metal & Punk Rock. I think it was "Method To Our Madness" sandwiched between I think 999's "Homicide" & Motörhead's "White Line Fever" anyway I was sold and the next weekend it was to the local Harmony House for some new albums.

This is a great show and an awesome first appearance of The Lords Of The New Church on The New JDP.

justdave's notes:
I ripped the waves with DVD Audio Extractor. I then used Goldwave to try to make the volume levels match better. No EQ or noise reduction was used. The waves were lossy so I used Traders Little Helper to encode them to MP3 320kbps.

Some great early performances by Pink Floyd from various Television Broadcasts. Some of the performances are a little abridged and there could have been a broader selection of songs. Don't let those 2 little facts deter you, this is early, live Pink Floyd...smoke a couple joints, put on your headphones and float!!

justdave's notes:
I ripped the waves with DVD Audio Extractor. I then used Goldwave to double the volume and to re-edit some track marks. The DVD had lossy audio so I used Traders Little Helper to encode the waves to MP3 320kbps.

Mike Rutherford returns with a new line-up of Mechanics. This new version of the band is very tight. New vocalists Tim Howar and Andrew Roachford do a great job. Yes nobody could ever replace the Legendary Paul Carrack or the late yet Immortal Paul Young. The best thing is that they don't try to imitate their predecessors they bring the songs to life in their own way. I love this performance! I'm going to risk some hate comments but I think I would rather see Mike & The Mechanics come through my town than another Genesis Reunion without Peter Gabriel. Give the fans what they really want guys "Suppers Ready" just one more damn time!!!
