Loch Vostok live at Prog Metal Mania in Munich! 2nd May 2025

Loch Vostok -

I’ll be honest — Loch Vostok was one of the bands I didn’t know much about, so I had 0 expections and 100% curiosity, as I had heard many friends mentioning among the most-watch during the festival. Even though musically they’re not entirely my cup of tea, I truly appreciated their performance, as solid as you can expect from a veteran band on the genre. The Swedish band has been around for quite a while and clearly has a strong following. It was obvious that many in the crowd were really eager to see them.

And that crowd wasn’t disappointed. The band came on stage with confidence and delivered a powerful and tight show. There's a certain polish and stage experience that you can't fake, and the swedes definitely had that. While their particular blend of prog and heavier styles isn’t what I typically gravitate toward, it’s always great to discover a band that, even if it doesn’t hit your personal taste, still manages to leave a strong impression through sheer performance quality.
