Telangana govt to create special taskforce and MSME wing to track policy implementation
Hyderabad: To ensure that the newly unveiled MSME policy is implemented in an effective manner, the Telangana govt will be putting in place a special steering committee or taskforce as well as a dedicated MSME wing to regularly track the implementation of the policy.
The committee, which will monitor the delivery of the policy, set the policy's direction and table its progress before the Assembly, will be set up under the industries minister and will comprise industries principal secretary, industries commissioner, MSME and retail director as well as representatives of industry associations.

The committee will be helmed by a renowned Telangana-based industry leader and will have at most about nine members, industries & IT minister Duddilla Sridhar Babu told TOI on the sidelines of an industry interaction on the new MSME policy conducted by CII Telangana.
Telangana industries & IT special chief secretary Jayesh Ranjan said the steering committee will comprise primarily members from various industry associations.
On the other hand, the dedicated MSME wing will be set up under the commissioner of industries to provide 24x7 dedicated support to MSMEs in the state. It will include the joint director of industries, two assistant directors and four industrial promotion officers.
The MSME wing will set up a digital grievance redressal system where MSMEs can directly report their issues and officers of the wing will frequently troubleshoot. The wing will prepare a dashboard that will record indicators like queries received each month, issues resolved, content analysis of issues resolved and issues deferred.

The wing will also conduct periodic industry feedback and identify systemic challenges.
To enable the effective implementation of the policy, the commissioner of industries & commerce, director of MSME & retail, as well as the directors of various specialised business sectors and corporations such as Telangana Industrial Development Corporation (TGIDC), Telangana Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (TGIIC) will also work together to boost the sector.
These implementing agencies will facilitate timely disbursal of funds and incentives to MSMEs to support them in their working capital needs.
They will also build an implementation dashboard on an all-in-one portal using insights from different portals of departments, the policy document said.
These implementing govt agencies will also develop supporting infrastructure such as industrial parks, local testing centres and warehousing facilities through innovative models such as public-private partnerships (PPP), it said.
The govt will also engage third-party professionals to develop best-in-class digital solutions for MSMEs, the policy said.
