An imposter posing as a Union minister managed to transfer seven employees in the Gonda land consolidation department. Police launched a manhunt after the fraud was reported by the minister's representative, leading to the cancellation of the transfers.

AYODHYA: An imposter, posing as Union minister of state for external affairs Kirti Vardhan Singh, Member of Parliament from Gonda, got transferred seven employees in Gonda land consolidation department recently.
However, the police swung into action following a complaint lodged by Rajesh Kumar Singh, representative of the minister. All the transfers were cancelled and a manhunt was launched by the Katra Bazaar police for the accused.
Identified as Satish, the imposter exerted
pressure on land consolidation commissioner to transfer the employees. Though initially the employees were transferred later consolidation officer Devendra Singh cancelled all transfer orders and instructed the employees to continue working at their original place of postings.
Satish, who hails from Jagdishpur village in Katra Bazaar, used a fake profile picture of the minister on his mobile and WhatsApp to exert pressure on officials. The fraudster orchestrated the transfer of three clerks, revenue inspectors and accountants from the Gonda consolidation office. Those who were transferred included Tej Narayan Srivastava, Ashok Kumar Verma, Virendra Tiwari and Sarvesh Shukla from Parsapur to the new ACO office.
When BJP MLA Prem Narayan Pandey from Tarabganj inquired about the transfer with the minister, he denied any involvement. The MLA informed him that several transfers were made using his name, prompting the minister to instruct his representative to take action.
