Donald Trump has once again directed his ire towards late-night host
Jimmy Kimmel, this time in a scathing post on his Truth Social platform. In the post, Trump criticised Kimmel's performance at the
Oscars and accused him of suffering from "Trump Derangement Syndrome."
“Remember this? What a dope! His wife and agent begged him not to do it, and just before BEST PICTURE AWARD, yet.
He suffers from TRUMP DERANGEMENT SYNDROME. All of this on top of really bad ratings for Jimmy, just like failing Bill Maher and the two clowns on CBS and NBC! NO TALENT EQUALS BAD RATINGS!!!” Trump wrote, taking shots at Kimmel’s ratings and fellow hosts on other networks.
This is not the first time Trump has publicly attacked Kimmel. During a rally in Florida in September, Trump recalled an incident where Kimmel read out one of his Truth Social posts during the Academy Awards. At the rally, Trump claimed Kimmel was “the worst host in the history of the Academy Awards” and mocked the comedian for reading the message despite warnings from his wife and manager.
“He should have listened to his wife,” Trump said at the rally, adding that Kimmel’s decision to read his post showed he was “one of the dumbest human beings ever.”
Kimmel, known for his frequent jabs at Trump, previously poked fun at the former president during his hosting of the Oscars. In 2017, Kimmel referenced Trump’s obsession with “fake news” and even tweeted directly at him during the show, asking, “Hey @realDonaldTrump u up?”
