Not all LSU fans celebrated the same way after the Tigers won the championship with Florida on Monday night.
At Charles Schwab Field in Omaha, the Tigers defeated Florida 18-4 to win the Men’s College World Series for the first time since 2009. One male LSU fan was apparently brutally rejected by a woman in the stands.
ESPN’s cameras showed a man in a purple LSU shirt crouching down to talk to a woman, making a fist-pumping gesture at her.
Then a woman in a white collared cropped top raised her hand, palm facing the man, as if to shoo him away.
The man appeared to continue shooting, but the woman seemed unconcerned and kept her hands up at him.
The woman then seemed to say “no” before pointing in the direction of the field.
When she felt better, the man backed away.
It’s unclear what exactly happened during the exchange, but the whole thing might have been fun.
It’s also possible that the man spewed some kind of game and suffered a public loss.
Other than that, it was a great day for LSU fans.
The Tigers won the deciding game against their SEC rivals with an explosive offense.
It was the day after the University of Florida had the all-time scoring record in a College World Series game, beating LSU 24-4.
On Saturday, the Tigers won the season opener 4-3 in a best-of-three series.
The Tigers easily overcame an early 2-0 deficit by allowing six runs in the second inning against Jack Callianone.
LSU (54-17) has held off three eliminations in bracket play.
They are the first ever D1 school to win baseball and basketball (men’s or women’s) national titles in the same season.
