Free! Rae's Basic Newborn Pant Sewing Pattern — Made by Rae
Free! Rae’s Basic Newborn Pant Sewing Pattern These were way too long for newborns, but are fitting my 2.5 month old just perfectly for length (he's 24" long and about 13lbs). I used 17" of 3/8" elastic and overlapped the ends by 1" on each end. He has plenty of room in them, so I think i'll just use the same pattern and increase the rise and the leg length to make a larger size :)

How to make ruffled leggings for girls. Kids seem to out grow the length of leggings long before they outgrow the width (butt Area) and that can be frustrating for parents - especially if the leggings match a cute top for the child. Add length by sewing on a ruffled bottom edge with some stretchy cotton fabric scraps. If the leggings do have a top, match the ruffle fabric color to the top.
