During high school I received a birthday gift from a classmate which was a card with the text "I smile because I have no idea what the hell is going on." I learnt that the text was referring to me but I didn't really think much about it and I interpreted it as a funny joke. I don't think i smile when I don't know what is going on. But I think about this gift now because I've been repeatedly told that I look confused & lost even when I don't feel confused and lost. So this is boggling to me.
