Growing up on the mainland, my family was far away from our extended family in Hawaii, so the taste of iconic local-style dishes always transported us back to our home on the islands. • 16 oz Char siu pork
Produce
• 1 Green onion
• 1/2 Yellow onion, small
Refrigerated
• 1 Egg, large
Canned Goods
• 1/3 cup Chicken broth
• 2 oz Water chestnuts
Condiments
• 2 tsp Hoisin sauce
• 1 tsp Honey
• 1 tbsp Oyster sauce
Baking & Spices
• 1 All-purpose flour
• 2 tbsp Brown sugar, dark
• 1 Char siu filling
• 1 scant tbsp Cornstarch
• 12 Dinner roll dough, frozen
• 1 Kosher salt and white pepper
Oils & Vinegars
• 1 Cooking spray, nonstick
• 1 tbsp Grapeseed oil or high smoke point vegetable oil
• 1 tsp Sesame oil
