Joe Thompson on Instagram: "Throwing a Swirly Tumbler. There are still a few of the Lucky Dip tumblers available in my shop, and a handful of them are in the Tiger's Eye glaze like the pics shown at the end here. It's too late for international delivery before Christmas, but there's still time for UK delivery! #pottery #clay #ceramic #ceramics #handmade #handmadeuk #handmadepottery #glaze #cone6 #wheelthrown #wheelthrowing #potteryvideo #satisfyingvideo #oddlysatisfying #satisfying #oldforgecreations"

How Long Does it Take to Make a Pot?
Jackie Talmey-Lennon on Instagram: "Okay here it is. A lot of potters open with their thumbs successfully. A lot of potters open with their thumbs unsuccessfully but keep doing it anyway. Some don’t even know their problem is caused by their opening technique. As covered in my last reel, if your pots are starting centred but somehow pulling off centre later, you may need to change your opening technique. That reel shows how to diagnose it, this one shows how to treat it. For starters, a thumb opening technique isn’t necessarily bad, but it does invite: 1) Slapping the whole-ass palm against the outside of the clay. You are not stabilizing the clay by doing this. You are creating friction. Friction is not your friend. 2) Pulling in two directions at once. Tell me you wish you were

Ceramic Artist, Zahava Friedman on Instagram: "I’m a part time potter, so some pieces are complete within 1-2 months, and others take years, mostly due to sitting on the shelf as bisque ware waiting for glaze. My work is slow, so it takes time to build up enough work to fill the kiln. Roughly 4-5 hours go into a lantern like this from throwing to carving to trimming to firing to glazing to firing again. I love (almost) every minute of the process. . . . #pottery #ceramics #lantern #handmadepottery #pottersofinstagram #madebyhand #candlelight #potteryprocess #cerámicas #ceramicart #lagunaclay"
Rooted Ceramics on Instagram: "Every once in a while, I reward myself with a true delicacy. The luxury of making something completely new, just for the process of making. I’ve never made a cake stand before, or something even remotely like this. I don’t know why this idea took hold, but I knew that I had to see if I could do it. As you can see (if you watched the whole video 😉) this process spanned over several days, and was much more time consuming than my normal pieces. Unfortunately I forgot to film the glazing, but it was a tricky beast! But, that’s the whole point! This entire collection has challenged me in new and exciting ways. I can hardly believe that I made this piece with my own two hands. I can only DREAM of the home that this will find its way into, and the art that it
Lyndsey Roberts | Ceramic Arts on Instagram: "This is how I get pots off the wheel. Everyone has a different method, but this is the one I use. I find it especially helpful for mugs, because it keeps the thin rim nice and round. . . . #ceramicstutorial #potterytutorial #tipsandtricks #ceramicsaretrending #potteryartist #potteryarts #ceramicarts #ceramicartworks #processvideo #process #claystagram #potterystudio #ceramicstudio #ceramics #studiosound #studiotime #studiolife #ceramicartist #lyndseyroberts #lilacmoonceramics"
