Based in Teesside, North-East UK, That Clare is an eclectic transgender singer-songwriter whose music is a powerful mix of cool acoustic & synthwave punk vibes with poignant lyrics.
She’s a songwriter, performer and producer in her own right.
Strongly influenced by classic punk and new-wave artists like Laura Jane Grace, Blondie, Patti Smith, NiN & Depeche Mode, That Clare channels her experiences and emotions into dark poetic songs that address politics, protest, and personal struggles.
Her music serves as a vehicle for positive action, giving a voice to trans/queer rights, democracy, equality, and social justice. Early 2025 she was selected by a panel of industry experts to take part in Tees Music Alliance’s PRS Foundation-funded music residency, The Green House, culminating in a live show at The Georgian Theatre, Stockton & opened the Noisy Daughters stage at Last Train Home festival in Darlington Sept 2025.
