East London’s queer electronic music festival has moved from over different Hackney Wick venues to a larger sute of its own.

Chosen for: Driving Diversity.

Tickets for Body Movements tend to sell out fast – and for good reason. The annual party-slash-festival launched its first chapter in 2021, and has since expanded to Southwark Park, London.

A taste of the typical Body Movements line-up features cult queer party Adonis, as well as Big Dyke Energy – the south London-based warehouse rave centring a female-identifying queer audience; Queer Bruk, run by Akeil Onwukwe-Adamson, serve up Afrobeat selections, and the likes of Queer House Party.

Body Movements is the first event of its kind in east London. By being the first UK festival to bring together these disparate nights and sub-communities within the London LGBTQIA+ scene, the event creates a sense of cohesion and unity for the city’s queer club circuit. As the name suggests, it’s truly a moment to let loose and luxuriate in a space where you’re in the majority rather than the minority.

Body Movements’ summer celebration is a daytime festival on Sunday 24th August. Find more information here.
