Gray’s saga has come to an unfortunate end: AMC has cancelled its Giancarlo Esposito-led crime drama Parish after just one season, TVLine has learned exclusively.
“We’re so proud of Parish, and thankful for the creative talent involved and the performances they were able to bring to the screen, starting with the remarkable Giancarlo Esposito, Skeet Ulrich and the entire cast,” the cabler said in a statement. “We are unfortunately unable to proceed with a second season, but Season 1 will remain available on AMC+ to fans who want to relive this thrill-ride-of-a-series and those yet to discover it.”
Parish follows a driver (Esposito) who takes a job for a shady criminal syndicate, leading him to lots of gunfire and dead bodies. “After his son is violently murdered and his business collapses, an encounter with an old friend from his days as a wheelman resurfaces old habits, sending Gray on a high-stakes collision course with a violent criminal syndicate,” reads its official description.
Along with Esposito, the cast includes Skeet Ulrich (Riverdale), Zackary Momoh (The Nevers), Paula Malcomson (Ray Donovan), Bonnie Mbuli (Invictus), Ivan Mbakop (Hawkeye), Arica Himmel (mixed-ish) and Dax Rey (The Good Fight).

Another disappointing cancellelation of a great show!
I’m no longer going to watch a show until it has at least 3 Seasons. I get invested in a show and the pull the plug.
I’m a hugè fan of Giancarlo Èsposito, but I was not a fan of this show. I’m sorry for the fans, but really happy that he is now available for a better show.
No surprise. It was an awful show. We made it to the third episode and realized it was not worth our time.

Another fun AMC show bites the dust. 5 of their shows ended this year. I feel like they need new stuff. They can’t live on just The Walking Dead and Anne Rice shows.
I liked it and would have watched another season. Maybe they should have had him cross path with Ann Rice’s immortal universe…
It wasn’t a perfect show but it was quite interesting and I would have watched another season. I wish these networks and streamers would give new shows at least 2 seasons-give them time to grow and get bigger audiences. It’s really not worth it nowadays to watch a new show because it’s unlikely to be renewed.

Too bad, it was well-acted and held my interest. Then again, with so many other good shows to watch, it’s not the end of the world.
