TV show description:
An international dance competition that’s hosted by Lord of the Dance’s Michael Flatley and co-hosted by Susie Castillo.
Billed as equal parts sporting event, rock concert, and artistic exhibition, participants from eight nations — Ireland, India, USA, Argentina, China, Russia, South Africa and Australia — participate in the series. Each country’s team is comprised of two soloists, a duo, and one larger group.
Viewers are taken behind the scenes with the competitors and their coaches to see the many trials and tribulations behind the artistry. The stakes are high for these artists, as they’re not only representing themselves, but also their dance form and their entire nation.
Every performance is scored by a panel of international judges who are highly respected choreographers and retired dancers. Each judge represents one country in the competition and ranks an act on a scale of one to 10. The judge from the performer’s home country isn’t allowed to score that particular performance.
