We were thrilled to host The Agency Programme at our Chester office for an inspiring workshop. This incredible initiative empowers young people to drive meaningful change in their communities, and it was amazing to hear their creative ideas ahead of their ‘Dragon’s Den’-style pitches this weekend.
Last night, we had the pleasure of welcoming The Agency Programme to our Sykes Holiday Cottages Chester office, where they hosted one of their dynamic workshops in our collaboration space. The Agency is a creative entrepreneurship programme that empowers young people (the agents) across the UK to create meaningful change in their communities. Storyhouse has partnered with the organisation to run the programme locally in Lache, Chester. The programme offers valuable support through workshops on project management, presentation skills, and problem-solving, among others. Many ideas developed by the agents have already been selected for funding, so this week’s session focused on refining their plans ahead of a ‘Dragon’s Den’ style pitch this weekend to get this funding released and the projects started! Having being born and lived in Chester for most of my life, I was honoured to join the session, offering advice on presenting and delivery, and had the privilege of sitting on the mock panel. I was blown away by the passion and creativity the agents brought to their projects, each drawing from their personal experiences to create ideas that will enact meaningful change. The time and effort that has gone in to developing these ideas was evident given the level of detail, from merchandise to budgeting, that was included! A huge thank you to The Agency for allowing me to be part of this journey. Best of luck to all the young entrepreneurs presenting this weekend – I can’t wait to see your ideas come to life and make a lasting impact in your communities!
