How to fix a burned-out bulb with a razor blade | By Learn To Do | Place a razor blade on a burned out LED bulb and it will work perfectly again after this tip you'll never throw away a burned out bulb again. This incredible secret was discovered by an electrician who showed me how to fix a bulb very quickly. As you can see this one is working perfectly. This shows that the socket is on. Now let's take the defective bulb. Put it in the same socket and see what happens. As you can see it's not working. So I'll remove it the socket and show you how easy and practical it is to fix a bulb at home. The first step is to remove the acrylic bulb. For those who don't know, these are the LEDs in the bulb that work in series. If one of them fails, they all stop working. And when this happens, the big mistake people make is throwing it away to buy a new one. But you don't need to do that because with this amazing tip, you can fix more than five bulbs in a minute. To do this, we'll make a tool using tweezers and a bit of electrical tape. With this tool, we'll know exactly which LED is faulty. As you can see, I'm identifying the burned out LED just by touching the sides with the tip. When it lights up, that's the faulty LED. So make a mark to keep track of it. Once that's done, unplug it so we can fix it. Using an object, remove all the excess from the burned out LED. Do this by scraping so that only the contact remains. Next, we'll need an old razor blade. Using a firm pointed object, we'll remove one of the blades. For those who don't know, the blade is an excellent conductor of electricity and will help us fix the bulb. Now cut a small piece using pliers. Then use a piece of electrical tape slightly larger than the size of the burned out LED. Then place the piece of the razor blade we cut. Next position it directly on the contact where we remove the burned out LED. Press it firmly to ensure it stays in place. Once done put the bulb back in the socket and test it. As you can see it really works and our bulb is functioning again. Very cool, isn't it? After that, just reattach the bulb cover and it's ready to use. Now, let's see you throw a burned out bulb in the trash again. Impossible.
