All of the supplies and equipment I use in... | By Madi Mac Fashions | So many of you have asked me to show you how I do the drawstrings on the bottom of my flannel shirts. Okay, so this is a T shirt with the flannel on the side and I just cut the bottom off to make it even and then the flannel is going to fray. So, you need to make sure that edge does not do that by using your serger. That's what a serger edge will look like or if you don't have a serger, you can do a zigzag stitch along that edge with your regular sewing machine. Okay, then you're going to flip that edge up and you're just going to take it over and put a straight stitch along that edge. That's what it will look like when it's up. I usually do it about the width of my thumb and then I'm going to take the extra material from the flannel. If you're doing this on just a normal T shirt that doesn't have this additional flannel sleeves then you can just use any kind of material. But this flannel does not stretch. You want the drawstring to stretch like that spandex or it will be very uncomfortable. So I'm going to attach that piece of spandex to the two sides of the flannel print so that you can see the flannel print coming out the front of the shirt. Alright first of all you're going to take it over there and you're just going to put the spandex in the middle of the flannel and you're going to sew it on. I'm using my surgery. You can use your regular sewing machine. You will not see this part. So, it doesn't have to look pretty. This is going to be in the back of the shirt. So, you just fold the edges over of the flannel. Doesn't matter which way you fold it because both sides of the flannel are pretty much the same and you're just going to zip down the side. Now, there's many ways that you can do this. This is just the way I prefer to do it. I keep it nice and straight by using my finger on the left-hand side of the fabric to just kind of keep it right in place and a serger will cut the fabric off on the right hand side which is so amazing. If you sew a lot and you don't have a serger, you're missing out. I'm telling you. Okay, then this is the other side. You're just doing the fabric, I mean the flannel. You're not messing with anything having to do with the spandex yet. I'll show you what we do next in a second. Alright, so go down that edge. Make it nice and straight. Again, if you're using a regular sewing machine, you can just do a zigzag stitch or a straight stitch and then just cut the excess fabric off on the on the edge. Alright, so now, you're going to use these two different kinds of turners. You're going to use a puller and a pusher. So, this metal one is the puller. So, you stick it all the way through. You're going to hook the edge with that little hook right there and you're going to pull it through. This can be very annoying. There's a little flap of metal that you push up onto the hook so that it doesn't grab fabric that you're not wanting it to grab but it can be very annoying but anyways, it took me a while to get it through. Once you get it going, it kind of goes quickly and then you the other side, okay? And you're not messing with anything having to do with the spandex at this point because the spandex and where the flannel attaches to the spandex will not be seen. So, you're just turning the flannel pieces inside itself. If you don't want to use the flannel and you just want a single piece of spandex, super easy. You just pick what color matches, cut a little strip and you just skip this whole part and you're going to move on to this part right here. Okay, you're going to find the center and just snip the top layer of the material don't go all the way through if you do not a big deal it's fine but then you're going to use this pusher you're going to put it in that hole and you're just going to push it all the way through this is just like in place of using a safety pin how people do that sometimes goes so much faster you get it all the way through to the other side of the hole and then you just pull it out and you even it out again like I said if you're only using spandex and not doing this whole flannel on the both sides it's much easier but anyways it looks super cute to do it with the flannel so you even it out and then you're to knot the ends, put a knot on the end, tie it super tight on both ends, and just kind of snip the excess. It will fray a little bit at the end of that but that's fine. That's cute and then you're just going to tie it in a little bow and let me show you how dang adorable this turned out. I think it's precious. I love these. Now, this tie, I left it a little bit long because I want the customer to be able to decide how loose they want it to be but you can tie it up and you can make it a shorter shirt adorable or you can pull it back down where with leggings and make it a nice long shirt. Okay, hope you guys love it. Bye.

They are so easy to make and look amazing! Even without a gift inside I think they would make great diy tree ornaments 😍 For this one I used a 14x14 cm (5,51x5,51 inch) square of foiled paper. Anyway, I hope you like this simple origami box, or maybe you have already tried one? If you did, let me know what you thought of them 😊 #diygift #christmasdiy #easyorigami #papercrafting | Katharina Tarta Crafts
