76K views · 12K reactions | Grow your own Turmeric at home 🧡 It’s super easy & extremely rewarding! 🌿 Just like Ginger, Turmeric / Curcuma can be grown out of one rhizome and it could lead to an amazing harvest! Turmeric is full of antioxidants, you can add it to any dishes, I especially love to grate them with mushrooms or fresh in an homemade ginger shot 🤗 Here are some more tips below : 🧡 You can start to make it sprout now, the growing process takes 8-9 months. Soak it in water the first days and then simply spray water to not let it dry out. 🧡 Plant indoor in a pot of 5L / 1 Gallon and after 2-3 months, replant in a pot of 20L / 5 Gallon outdoor when there is no frost anymore. 🧡 The plant will need sun and regular watering but is very low maintenance, it grows by itself, kind of magic! 🧡 When to harvest? When the foliage starts to turn yellow, that’s the sign that you can harvest your fresh turmeric. Green Love to you 💚 #turmeric #antioxidants #plantbased | Patrick Vernuccio

115K views · 18K reactions | Growing and drying herbs and teas is my all-time favorite task on our Homestead. It’s therapeutic and simple; yet it makes all the difference in the taste of foods! I also find it fascinating that herbs are medicinal and healing. Growing healing medicines for my family takes self-sufficiency to a whole new level for me…and it’s so easy.😍 While you can absolutely use a freeze dryer or dehydrator, you can also just use a simple homemade drying rack set up like I have…or lay your herbs out on a cotton tea towel in a well-ventilated area. It’s really that simple. #Herbalism #HomegrownTeas #HomesteadLife #Homesteading #FoodIndependence #MoreThanFarmers #Teas #Herbs #MedicinalHerbs #FoodPreservation #FoodSecurity | More Than Farmers
