1.2M views · 63K reactions | Around 15 years ago there was a show on Food Network called the @heartyboys …. (Oh how I miss the old format of @foodnetwork when they actually had cooking shows on it!). Anyway, they made this dip on one of their shows and it stopped me in my tracks because it had everything in it that I love. I’ve been making it ever since. It’s so simple to make, has huge bold flavors and is such a great Holiday appetizer. It is always one of the first things to go. People literally cannot tear themselves from it. Need an appetizer this season? Here you go . . Baked Goat Cheese with Caramelized Onion, Garlic and Mission Figs . . 1 1/2 lb goat cheese 14 dried Mission figs (1 cup), sliced 1/3 cup dry sherry 1/4 cup olive oil 2 large Spanish onions, thinly sliced 10 garlic cloves, crushed 3 rosemary sprigs 2 tsp salt Freshly ground black pepper 2 sliced baguettes, for dipping Preheat the oven to 350F. Crumble the goat cheese into an oven safe casserole dish and set aside. In a sauce pot combine the figs and sherry with enough water to barely cover the figs. Place the sauce pot over high heat and bring up to a bubble, cover and remove from the heat and let the figs steep and plump up while the onions are cooking. Pour the olive oil into a large skillet and place over medium heat. Add the onions, garlic, rosemary, salt and pepper and cook, stirring often, for about 25 minutes, or until lightly browned. Using a slotted spoon remove the plumped figs from the sauce pot, leaving behind any of the pluming liquid. Add the figs to the cooked onions, stir to combine and then spoon over the goat cheese. Place the dish into the top half of the oven for 20 minutes, until the edges begin to bubble. Remove and serve immediately with sliced baguettes or crackers. . . . . #bakedgoatcheese #hotdip #missionfigs #christmasappetizer #holidayappetizers #caramelizedonions | Diane Morrisey

117K views · 8.7K reactions | Family Style Spinach and Cheese Burekas🧀🌿 Perfect for entertaining or feeding a large crowd! Recipe in Hebrew pinned in comments below ⬇️ Ingredients: •1 cup cottage cheese •1 cup sour cream (drain any liquid from the top) •1 cup crumbled feta cheese •2 cups shredded mozzarella or any shredded cheese •2 large eggs + 1 egg for brushing •2 cups fresh spinach, chopped •2 sheets puff pastry (10x15 inches, like @jeckysbest) •Assorted toppings: sesame seeds, za’atar, or Everything but the Bagel seasoning. Directions: Prepare the Filling: In a large bowl, combine the cottage cheese, sour cream, crumbled feta, shredded mozzarella, 2 large eggs, and chopped spinach. Mix well and set aside. Roll the Dough: Take your thawed puff pastry sheets (thawed in the fridge, preferably overnight) and lightly dust with flour. Place the first sheet on parchment paper and roll it out slightly to thin the dough. Transfer the parchment paper and dough to a half-sheet baking pan. Assemble: Evenly spread the cheese and spinach mixture over the entire surface of the puff pastry on the baking sheet. Top with the Second Sheet: Roll out the second puff pastry sheet the same way, and carefully flip it on top of the cheese mixture. Gently press to flatten, then remove the parchment paper. Score the Burekas: Using a sharp knife, cut diagonal lines across the dough in one direction. Then, rotate the pan and cut diagonal lines in the opposite direction to create a diamond pattern. Egg Wash and Toppings: Beat the remaining egg and brush it evenly over the top of the dough. Sprinkle your preferred toppings, alternating for a decorative effect. Bake: Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Bake for 45-55 minutes, or until the pastry is golden brown and crispy. Cooking time may vary depending on your oven. Serve: Once baked, cut along the pre-scored lines to separate the burekas pieces. Serve warm and enjoy! Notes: Use cold cheeses straight from the fridge to avoid a watery filling. You can skip the spinach or add olives for extra flavor. Perfect for a crowd or a comforting family meal! #cheese #burekas #sivanskitchen #reels #instagram #instagood #instafood #baking | Sivan's Kitchen | Cupido · Greedy

48K views · 5.2K reactions | Comment RECIPE for the recipe sent right to your DM’s so you can make this 🧀 (make sure you are following me to receive the message!) It’s the time of the season where baked brie will now become a staple in your diet 🎃🍂🧀 This is perfect to make as an appetizer going into the fall hosting season, for Halloween parties or Thanksgiving! What you’ll need: 🧀 brie cheese wheel 🧀 puff pastry sheet 🧀 2 tbsp fig jam 🧀 baking twine (on my storefront) 🧀 1 egg (egg wash) Heat oven to 350. On a baking sheet, lay out a sheet of puff pastry. Add fig jam in the middle and place your brie cheese wheel in the middle. Wrap pastry around the brie cheese like a little present. I cut 5 pieces of bakers twine and wrapped each piece around the puff pastry to make the pumpkin shape. Tie each piece of bakers twine as you wrap them around (be sure to bake the Brie with the bakers twine on). Flip brie over and brush the top with egg wash. Bake for 20 minutes (or until the top is golden brown). Once out of the oven let cool for at least 5 minutes and then cut off the baking twine. I used a piece of a cracker and sage leaf stem for the top of it. Serve with your choice of crackers, apples, nuts and ENJOY! 🧀 SAVE this fall baked brie recipe and follow @convinoboard for more easy appetizer ideas! 🧀🍂🎃🍁 #bakedbrie #cheese #foodie #appetizers #easyrecipe #briecheese | Nicolle Love | Cheese, Wine, Recipes & Dinner Parties | The Zombies · Time of the Season
