This strategy will help✨  Drop the word ⚠️ BLEND ⚠️ below ⬇️ for a link to my “Scooping Mats” AND teaching slides seen ⬆️  Can your child read each of these sounds /c/a/t but can’t blend them together? And might say random words instead- car, cake, house? 😬  Never fear! Successive blending is here! This has been a game changer in my classroom!  Some readers need more support with short term memory. These readers can read /c/a/t but when blending the phonemes together they may say “car” or “catch” or another similar word.  If this happens take a step back and do this:  1. Read each sound adding on one letter at a time  2. Scoop the first and second sound together, then add the final sound  3.
