If you like the look that the crab stitch [aka reverse single crochet] creates but don’t like working in reverse, try a twisted single crochet. It’s worked the same as a standard single crochet except that before the last yarn over you rotate the hook 360 degrees, twisting the loops. This creates those ridges and give the exact look of a crab stitch.
