Cassette + Digital Album
This album is available on a limited number of 50 upcycled cassettes with hand-printed artwork. To minimise environmental impact, we only use recycled paper and print materials, and our entire operation is carbon neutral. Each cassette is packaged using an individually hand-printed card insert. As the printing process is a little different each time, the artwork for each individual cassette is unique. Please note therefore that the cassette cover that you receive might not be exactly the same as those illustrated.
We love the fact that cassettes have a lower environmental impact than CDs or vinyl, because they can be re-used. Our upcycled cassettes are duplicated using professional-standard equipment. We use high quality cassettes by recognised manufacturers (eg TDK, Sony, BASF etc.), but they are likely to be a few years old, and they will have been used previously, so they might show signs of wear and tear. If for any reason the tape does not play satisfactorily, please get in touch and we will replace it.

Having been involved in the past with free improvisation, micro-edited DAW dance music and even canine-themed performance art, recently I’ve taken an ambient turn, somewhat catalysed by being given a Lexicon Jamman once owned by one Brian Eno.
This collection grew from a desire to offer listeners and myself a kind of breathing space: a place of retreat from the overstimulation of post-modern life. These pieces are intended less as statements and more as invitations — to drift, to think, to not-think.
Inspired by Cage’s attentiveness, Eno’s use of effects chains as instruments, along with the current wave of artists exploring music for altered states and expanded consciousness, I’ve found myself seeking something quieter — not silence, but a deliberate lessening. A kind of “less and less of more and more.”
Rather than fill space, I’ve tried to shape it. The music doesn’t demand attention but rewards it; it’s there if you want to follow, and also if you just want to be near it.
Each track was made in real-time, feeding minimal inputs into complex, layered effects chains including long delay lines, and then listening. Listening to the music; listening to myself. Trusting the process to reveal something. In a noisy world, I hope these sounds can offer a little stillness — or at least a pause.
