Software engineering and innovation

Writing robust web systems since 2005

Welcome. I am Frank Malina. Fixer and maker, mountain man, software engineer, SEO, creator of Unilexicon taxonomy editor, Flatmate Rooms and Be local (UK POI dataset) with an obsession to clean, create and transform systems into snappy working products. Between 2009–2016 I run Flatmate Rooms, nationwide room rental site.

I specialise in taking neglected, slow or overly complex web systems and making them simpler, faster and easier to maintain.

Software development and business automation now mostly overtaken by goats and fixing mountain huts. I occasionally take on interesting projects, mentoring and consulting services for friends when aligned with my interests.

You'll find me at home sleeves up doing some woodwork, carpentry, refurbishing remote cabins and mountain bothies, quite rarely writing web systems and software. I run a small bed and breakfast. Come, visit.

Originally from Slovakia, I worked for 15 years in England and went back home. My CV.
