Tandara Mandara Festival – Comics, Animes, Mangas, Gaming & Cosplay

From August 31st to September 1st in 2024, the fantastic TANDARA MANDARA FESTIVAL took place around the Belgrade Art Pavilion “Cvijeta Zuzorić” in Kalemegdan Park with its third edition and comic lovers, anime fans, cosplayers and gamers encountered a colorful oasis of fantasy and fiction. In addition to booths from publishing houses, illustrators and comic producers, there were also cosplay competitions, board games, collectible figures, toy cars and even a Lego exhibition. We also spoke with VANJA PETROVIĆ from DARKWOOD COMICS and with the Cosplayer ELION during the event in two interviews.

Novi Sad – Fruškogorska – FC Kabel Soccer Field – Graffiti Hall of Fame

Between the streets Bulevar Despota Stefana, Fruškogorska, Most Slobode and Sunčani Kej is the soccer pitch and sports center of the local soccer club FC Kabel and other sports associations. The field is completely surrounded by a long wall and is perfect for graffiti. This huge area is the Kabel Hall of Fame and jams and sessions take place here regularly, the STREEWISE association in particular organizes happenings from time to time and new works are created ever now and then.

Belgrade – Dorćol – Dunavski Kej 46 – Magnificent Silosi Murals

On the banks of the Danube in Belgrade is a former factory with monumental silos at a height of 28 meters, the so called SILOSI. The building complex is constructed like honeycombs and consists of a total of 64 cells, but work was stopped many years ago and the site has lain fallow ever since. This landmark of brutalist architecture has been given a new lease of life thanks to the GAIA POKRET movement with several creative spaces, but the highlight are certainly the large murals that have gradually been painted in the lofty heights.

The Belgrade Design District is often considered the fashion mecca for designers and serves as a source of inspiration and an art center. With a variety of studios, galleries and stores, the creative space offers unique fashion pieces, accessories, jewelry, decorations, paintings and art objects, also events are held regularly. Novi Sad – Bulevar Despota Stefana – Limanski Skate Park

The Novi Sad Skatepark or „Skejt Park“ is located in the Limanski park at Bulevar despota Stefana near the Most Slobode bridge over the Danube. The medium-sized park has several halfpipes, ramps, tables and rails, and of course, as is often the case with skateparks, lots of graffiti. Skate events and graffiti sessions take place here regularly, with the STREETWISE association in particular organizing creative projects time and again.

Belgrade – Runaway Street Art Festival – Annual Mural Project

The RUNAWAY STREET ART FESTIVAL is a project launched by local artist ANDREJ JOSIFOVSKI aka PIJANISTA and is organized annually in selected locations in Belgrade. The first edition of this great happening took place in 2016 and new works have been created every year since. Although it is called a „festival“, it is actually more of a project and the exclusively large-scale murals are created by local and international artists on buildings in Belgrade throughout the year.

Belgrade – Careva Ćuprija – Hipodrom Hall of Fame

The „Careva Cuprija“ racecourse, also known simply as the „Hipodrom“, is the oldest sports facility in Belgrade. By decree of King Alexander on November 15th in 1920, the Danube Riding Club „Knez Mihajlo“ was granted the state land for a period of 75 years. In 1921, the first gallop derby race and the first race of the City of Belgrade took place, and since then they have become a tradition. One of the largest Halls of Fame in the city is also located on the outer walls of the Hipodrom station, which runs along the streetcar tracks.

„Festival Devet“ or „Dev9t“ which means „Festival Nine“ is held every year in Belgrade in a separate abandoned space of Stara Ciglana.
