Variety Magazine pays tribute to women trailblazers, philanthropists, poets, rule-breakers and so much more at the 2021 Power of Women dinner. This year’s nominees include poet laureate Amanda Gorman, singer Katy Perry, Warner Bros. Television Group Chairman Channing Dungey, singer Lorde and Oscar-winning actress Rita Moreno.
The evening will celebrate the philanthropic endeavors of each woman, highlighting the work they do beyond the stage, boardroom and screen. Perry is there repping the the Firework Foundation, Lorde is being honored for her work with 350 Aotearo, Dungey for her work with the Children’s Institute, Gorman for WriteGirl and Moreno for her work with the RotaCare Bay Area.
Presenters in attendance include Gayle King, Gloria Calderón Kellett, Hunter Schafer, Angelina Jolie, and Ava DuVernay, along with additional attendees Garcelle Beauvais, Marlee Matlin, Jenna Dewan, Kelly Hu, Sylvia Kwan, Tia Mowry, Justina Machado, Alyssa Milano, Kim Raver, Elisabeth Rohm, Jill Scott, Patricia Velasquez, Paxton Smith and Loni Love.
