The Open Source Flight Sim Manifesto

I have fond memories of playing flight simulators with my dad when I was
pre-teen, taking turns in trying landings at Seatle in Microsoft Flight
Simulator 3 and cheering our successes and failures. Or even earlier, in the OG
Microsoft flight Simulator that had a minigame where you flew a Sopwith
Camel and shot at enemy planes. The planes were just stick crosses!

Enabling Cactus Comments 👋🌵

As the fan of Matrix that I am, I have decided to enable Cactus
Comments: privacy conscious and decentralized comments for my blog posts,
powered by the Matrix network.

Adding system package management to k8s: Hypper

In the last months with Rancher & SUSE, the team I am part of has been working
on expanding Helm use-cases for “system and shared” Helm chart dependencies
(apart of other upcoming projects).

Communication in FOSS communities

Some time ago I read this post. It made a pretty good job in convincing me
that, for communication, we are slowly moving away from an exchange culture
approach, and into a gift culture approach. Once I became aware about it, I
started seeing it daily thanks to Free Software and its approach:

here and there, opened bug reports and issues, lurked on IRC, but never dived
head first.
