My name is Urban Mesch, and I am the chairman of the organizing committee for the World Deaf Golf Championships 2026 in Barsebäck.

Where is Barsebäck located? It is in the southernmost part of Sweden, 30 minutes from the city of Malmö. We estimate that 120+ golfers from 20-25 countries will get together here next year.

Letter from the WDGC 2026 Organizing Committee

There will be a total of 125 golfers from 21 countries in the 2026 WDGC; 51 in Men’s, 23 in Women’s, 41 in Men’s senior and 23 in Women’s senior. This is a new record for the number of participants in the WDGC! We have published a page with the names and pictures of all the players here.

In total, we expect more than 250 golfers, officials, non-golfers, and supporters to arrive in Sweden. This places great pressure on the organizing committee. The responsibility of the organizing committee is first and foremost to transport players and leaders from Hyllie station to Barsebäck and Landskrona. Tourists and supporters have to arrange their own transport.

For those who are arriving at Copenhagen Airport, make sure to buy a round-trip ticket to Hyllie Station. This saves a lot of time on the return journey.

The official arrival days are 7 and 8 August, those arriving before or after these dates have to arrange their own transport. The same applies for the official departure day on August 15.

We have now reached 225 guests for the closing ceremony. That’s an amazing number, but it’s also the maximum number of guests we can accommodate. Unfortunately, this means we cannot accept any more registrations for the closing ceremony. We’re sorry about that.

Cash payments are not accepted at Barsebäck Resort; all payments must be made using Visa or Mastercard.

    ENTRY: How to sign up

    Should we enter the Tournament via the WDGC webpage or via the ICSD OMS system?

    • All entries should be made via the WDGC 2026 Player Registration page.

      The ICSD OMS is only for practice and will be in effect from 2028 WDGC onwards.
    TRANSPORT: Official dates

    Which are the official arrival- and departure days?

    • Official arrival days: 7-9 August
    • Official departure day: 15 August
    TRANSPORT: Copenhagen airport - Hyllie Train station

    How do I get to Hyllie train station in Malmö from Copenhagen Airport?

    • The trains depart every ten minutes during peak hours, and the journey takes about 12 minutes.
    • The approximate cost for a one-way ticket is SEK 161 (March 2026).

    TRANSPORT: Arrangements through WDGC2026

    From which places are transport arranged?

    • We will provide transport to and from the following places:
      • Hyllie Train station <-> Barsebäck Resort
      • Barsebäck Resort <-> Hotel Öresund, Landskrona

    This applies for all golfers and officials.

    Will there be transport between Barsebäck Resort and other hotels?

    • No, this has to be self arranged.

    How often will there be transport between Hyllie Station and Barsebäck Resort?

    • We will make a schedule when we know all arrivals and departures.

    Will there be transport for supporters and guests to the Barsebäck Resort?

    • Supporters and guests have to arrange their own transport due to the large number of participants and officials. 

    How can supporters and guests get to Barsebäck Resort?

    • Taxi/Uber from Hyllie train station - a large number of taxi companies offer larger vehicles at fixed rate
    • Train to Kävlinge or Landskrona, then taxi.
    HOTEL: Booking

    Can the WDGC Organizing Committee help to book a hotel?

    • No. Official WDGC hotels can be found under the Venue page. If you want to book another hotel, you’ll have to do it yourself. Other arrangements are not available.

    Are there any hotel rooms available at Barsebäck Resort?

    • No. Barsebäck Resort it is fully booked. However, there are a few Villas still available. There are still rooms available at Hotel Öresund. 

    Can supporters and guests stay at Barsebäck Resort?

    • No. The hotel and villas at Barsebäck Resort are for players and officials only.

    Is breakfast included?

    • Yes.
    THE VENUE: Opening and closing ceremonies

    Where will the opening- and closing ceremonies be held?

    • It will be held at Barsebäck Resort.

    Can supporters and guests get tickets to the opening- and closing ceremonies?

    • Yes. Register as a non-golfer and pay the non-golfing fee to attend the dinner at the opening ceremony and the closing ceremony banquet.
    THE VENUE: Restaurants

    Is there a restaurant where lunch and dinner are served?

    • Yes. There is a restaurant at the golf club.
    • There are also half way houses where lighter meals, sandwiches, snacks and "fika" can be purchased.
    THE VENUE: Storage

    Is there an option to securely store your golf bag and other equipment?

    • Yes, storage is available and conveniently located near the reception and the driving range.
    THE CHAMPIONSHIP: Practice rounds

    Can players book a practice round on Ocean and Pine Course before the WDGC?

    THE CHAMPIONSHIP: Trollies and buggies

    Will there be pulling trolleys available for the players?

    • Yes. There free pulling trolleys and electric trollies for hire. The cost is SEK 150 per day (March 2026). 

    Are there motorized carts (buggies) available for hire?

    • There are many golf carts for hire. The cost is SEK 450 per day (March 2026) per cart.

    OTHERS: In case of emergency

    Are there plans in case of accident or emergency during the Championships?

    • The procedures for emergencies will be provided at Barsebäck Resort.
    • There are defibrillator strategically placed around the resort.
    • Closest medical facility is found in Löddeköpinge (8 km).
    • Nearest hospital is found in Landskrona (15 km).
