The Moral and Ethical Authority

Am I missing something?

So this bunch of (mainly white) old men living in the lap of obscene luxury in the Vatican are calling for a crackdown on the financial markets now that the Occupy Movement has established its global street cred and gained such enormous traction.

"Oh, hang on everyone, wait for us, we're on the side of the people, the poor downtrodden people!"

a document released by the Holy See is calling for a "world authority" to crack down on capitalism and suggests some are considering it. Written by the Vatican's Pontifical Council for Justice and Peace and released on Monday:
Towards Reforming the International Financial and Monetary Systems in the Context of a Global Public Authority

Read more about it here.

It is difficult to put a figure on the extent of Vatican wealth. The closest average I can come up with in dive-bombing around the web is around 50 billion US dollars. Most of it is invested in the banking, insurance and commodities stock markets. And as we all well know transparency isn't one of the Vatican's strong suits. Somehow so much poverty in the world never equates in my mind with so much wealth in the Vatican. Is this how Jesus pictured his future church? Upon this rock which shall be rolling in red velvet and yay I say unto you a listing of stocks and bonds rippling down the steps of the Sistine Chapel?

So pardon my cynical black heart here. Isn't there a self serving whine to all of this noise about looking out for the financial interests of we the people and hear ye now from henceforth only fairness in all financial dealings?

All this coming from these outrageously wealthy masters of cover-up, these irrelevant old hypocrites

More Entertainment from the Vatican Vanities

So now we have a further episode of women hatred from this sorry bunch of barnacle encrusted old patriarchs aka Roman Catholic Hierarchy.

They have now classified even an attempted ordination of a woman as equivalent to paedophilia and child rape along with the usual heresy charges (what ever that is - perhaps having the gall to break free of the brain-washing cult?) Yes, lump these women in with the thousands upon thousands of predatory paedophiles who destroyed countless children's lives!

But they are certainly clear on the fact that paedophiles are a cut far, far above females, being as they are still ordained and not ex-communicated.

This comes right on the heels of the announcement from the Church of England that they would be consecrating female bishops to bring C of E into full equality.

Co-incidence?

Perhaps they're hoping to catch the onslaught of exits by the misogynists of C of E?

What a perfectly vile institution it is. How any female can be a supporter of such hatred and contempt is beyond my reasoning capacity.

Headline Run Around

It turns out, oh what a shock, that the reason the FDA are not banning bisphenol A or BPA is because the research has been compromised by the very industry who are polluting our brains with it. BPA is the toxic element in plastic bottles, including baby bottles, banned recently in Canada.

But you know, just in case, the FDA said this:

"Parents who, as a precaution, wish to use alternatives for their bottle-fed babies can use glass and other substitutes for polycarbonate plastic bottles; avoid heating formula in polycarbonate plastic bottles; and consult their paediatrician about switching to powdered infant formula."

Now, correct me if I’m wrong here. But weren’t these polycarbonates substitutes for glass in the first place?

And another shocker:

The Vatican are kinda-sorta refusing to release files that implicate the Pope of the time, Pius Xll, in turning a blind eye or both to the Holocaust. No! Mother Church? Never!

The current pope, Bennie, is insisting that Pius helped the Jews and wants to canonize him for his efforts. And those pics of Papa Pi with those Nazis? Courtesy calls only. Get a grip. Oh, just a sec, wasn't young Bennie a member of the Nazis in Germany? Oh, no connection? Alrightee then.

And Amex are laying off thousands of employees. While I sympathize with the 7,000 workers, I’m nastily gloating over this mini-downfall of the corporate vulture. I’ve had to deal with Amex over the years both on behalf of clients and as a consumer and I find them the greatest bunch of wankers out there. On every level. Appalling service, delayed payments to their vendors, obscene commission rates on charges and a total disdain for complaints. Karma. Is. Wonderful.

And Nicole Kidman broadcasts her co-dependency issues. ‘Nuff said.

And last but not least:

One in three women report having sexual problems.

I love those headlines. This one gets full marks for unsubstantive reportage and National Inquirer style journalism. No one gets under the covers of this one, so to speak, and finds out, like, why? Maybe depression, job loss, maybe husband/partner disinterested, maybe work-related stress, maybe illness?

Oh, just toss out that headline with the underlying premise of: eyeroll: Women, now what??
