Vanadium(III) oxide

Vanadium(III) oxide is the inorganic compound with the formula V2O3. It is a black solid prepared by reduction of V2O5 with hydrogen or carbon monoxide. It is a basic oxide dissolving in acids to give solutions of vanadium(III) complexes. V2O3 has the corundum structure. It is antiferromagnetic with a critical temperature of 160 K. At this temperature there is an abrupt change in conductivity from metallic to insulating.

Upon exposure to air it gradually converts into indigo-blue V2O4.

In nature it occurs as the very rare mineral karelianite.

Vanadium(V) oxide

Vanadium(V) oxide (vanadia) is the inorganic compound with the formula V2O5. Commonly known as vanadium pentoxide, it is a brown/yellow solid, although when freshly precipitated from aqueous solution, its colour is deep orange. Because of its high oxidation state, it is both an amphoteric oxide and an oxidizing agent. From the industrial perspective, it is the most important compound of vanadium, being principal precursor to alloys of vanadium and is a widely used industrial catalyst.

The mineral form of this compound, shcherbinaite, is extremely rare, almost always found among fumaroles. A mineral trihydrate, V2O5·3H2O, is also known under the name of navajoite.

Chemical properties

Upon heating, it reversibly loses oxygen, successively forming V2O4, V2O3, VO and the metal.

Acid-base reactions

Unlike most metal oxides, it dissolves slightly in water to give a pale yellow, acidic solution. When this compound is formed by V2O5 it is an amphoteric oxide. Thus :V2O5 reacts with strong non-reducing acids to form solutions containing the pale yellow salts containing dioxovanadium(V) centers:

    P&O (company)

P&O (formally the Peninsular and Oriental Steam Navigation Company) was a British shipping and logistics company dating from the early 19th century. Formerly a public company, it was sold to DP World in March 2006 for £3.9 billion. DP World currently operate three P&O branded businesses, P&O Ferries, P&O Maritime and P&O Heritage.

P&O Cruises was spun off from P&O in 2000, and is now owned and operated by Carnival Corporation & plc. The former shipping business, P&O Nedlloyd, was bought by and is now part of Maersk Line.

    History

    Early years and expansion: 1822–1900

In 1822, Brodie McGhie Willcox, a London ship broker, and Arthur Anderson, a sailor from the Shetland Isles, northern Scotland, went into partnership to operate a shipping line, primarily operating routes between England and Spain and Portugal. In 1835, Dublin shipowner Captain Richard Bourne joined the business, and the three men started a regular steamer service between London and Spain and Portugal - the Iberian Peninsula - using the name Peninsular Steam Navigation Company, with services to Vigo, Oporto, Lisbon and Cádiz. The company flag colours are directly connected with the Peninsular flags: the white and blue represent the Portuguese flag in 1837, and the yellow and red the Spanish flag.

    P.O

Pyo Ji Hoon (Korean: 표지훈; born February 2, 1993), better known by his stage name P.O (Korean: 피오), is a South Korean rapper. He is the youngest member of Korean hip hop boy group Block B.

    Career

    Pre-Debut

P.O attended Hanlim Multi Art School. It was reported that P.O was not chosen as a Block B member because he failed his first Block B audition. A year later, P.O auditioned once more after more training and losing 10 kg, which led him to Block B's final line-up.

    2012

Block B's Thailand interview scandal raised netizens to release a petition for Block B's suicide. Due to this petition, P.O was reported to have collapsed and was hospitalized for shock on February 24. To show his gratitude to BBC (Block B Club), Block B's official fanbase, P.O released a song written especially for them. "Dear My Wife" was released into his cyworld on September 25, featuring Winner's Mino. Along with fellow Block B member, Zico, they both were chosen as MCs for SBS MTV's "The Show". When Block B made their appearance on "Weekly Idol" to promote their song "Nilili Mambo", P.O was reported to have come from a wealthy family background. He mentioned that his father runs a duty-free store.

    POV (album)

POV is the ninth and final studio album by the rock group Utopia, released in 1985. It peaked at #161 on the Billboard 200 charts. Except for live albums and compilations, this is the last album recorded by Utopia. The ambiguous acronym title is given four possible explanations on the back cover of the album, standing variously for "Price of Victory", "Pillar of Virtue", "Point of View" or "Persistence of Vision". The front cover photo depicts the band dressed in quasi-military costumes and looking at a star map, while in the background the giant "Pharoah" mask (a stage prop from their mid-70s "RA" tour) can be seen. The album layout also reflects Rundgren's interest in computers and information technology and incorporates elements adapted from the 'window' design used in the Apple Macintosh operating system of the mid-1980s.

The light from another time is tonight a reflection
On a pool somewhere calling for love
And just when it seems she might be smitten
The clouds move in the song is done
    She said don't be afraid
    It's gonna be alright
And I swear you'll have the time of your life
A voice like a sign or a coming attraction
The plot is laid it centers on you
And just when it seems you're feeling the moment
You move for an outside point of view
    She said don't be ashamed
    You're doing fine
And I swear you'll have the time of your life
Oh God I guess everything's OK
Oh God I guess everything's OK
    OK
    She said don't be afraid
    It's gonna be alright
And I swear you'll have the time of your life
