Class 12 - How 100X.VC Invests

100X.VC has created a unique model to fund and nurture seed stage startups of India. A Class is a batch of startups which receive seed investment, mentoring and an opportunity to raise the next round of funding for growth.

What is Class 12?

Over 10,000 startups apply annually to be a part of 100X.VC. 100X investments are made in batches. Each batch is called a “Class”. A Class is composed of the most promising startups and audacious founders handpicked by Team 100X. Startups can be from across stages, and based out of anywhere in the country. With Class 12, 100X is looking to double down on the Indian ecosystem. The Class 12 program is designed for founders building their startup from India and looking to raise their first cheque. 100X will invest ₹1.25cr in each Class 12 startup. We invest through the founder-friendly iSAFE note for 15% of Future Equity.

How do I Apply for Class 12?

Fill up the application form here. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis.

If there is an interest to evaluate further, founders will hear from 100X in 7–10 working days.

Shortlisted startups will be invited to Mumbai for an interview with team 100X

On success in the interview, the investment committee will email a term sheet offer for 1.25 Cr for 15% of future equity ownership using iSAFE notes

On completion of legal compliance and due diligence and signing of iSAFE notes, money will be immediately wired into the startup bank account.

Estimated time from Term sheet to Deal Closure is 2 weeks once the due diligence documents are submitted and the Indian entity is incorporated.

The Class 12 HomeRun Masterclass Series

After being chosen for Class 12, a startup is invited to Mumbai for the HomeRun Masterclass Series. A home run is a difficult feat to achieve in a baseball game. When a player hits a home run, it scores a run even if no other factors (people on base) are present. This means it's the best type of hit possible. The HomeRun Series MasterClass is a 6-week structured curriculum where these entrepreneurs can learn business building alongside the world's best industry experts, mentors, venture capitalists, and founders of successful startups.

We believe the barrier to entry for entrepreneurs to scale and shape a startup from product to large business is still too high. The masterclass sessions help transform knowledge into impact and drive innovation in your startup. We encourage and inspire these entrepreneurs to pursue their dreams. There is a vast ecosystem of resources that supports the unique needs of these Indian startup entrepreneurs both inside and outside the classroom training.

Additionally, the 100X team starts working closely with the founding team on various aspects of the business, from product improvement to business model to pricing to financial modelling, hiring key team members and addressing various gaps in mutual consultation with the founders. 100X Works with Founders in 3 broad manners:

HomeRun Masterclasses

It is a 6-week in-person classroom engagement to provide 100X.VC portfolio entrepreneurs with a structured framework consisting of interactive knowledge sessions on essential aspects of bringing a product to the market. The founders get enrolled in exclusive masterclasses with the 100X Team and 50+ mentors.

Network Access

Founders are given open access to 100X’s Business Network of Advisors, Mentors, Corporates, CXOs, 100X Alumni Founders, and more. Each connection compounds the value of the startup. Through the HomeRun Masterclass Series, the startup founders bond to form a fellowship & community like none other.

VC Pitch Day

After the HomeRun Series, startup founders get an opportunity to showcase their work to a curated set of investors. This invite-based event helps them build their next round of funding. The event is attended by all the top Angels, Family Offices, Micro VCs, Corporate Funds and VC funds of India.
